The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

just came in from the garden, still too wet to start hoeing again but mainly went out to see the cucumbers that husband said were coming up volunteer from last year(he doesn't know one plant from another:lol:) (but because i had cucumbers there last year he saw something that wasn't a weed) anyway he saw sunflowers coming up from seeds that fell last fall, since i didn't want sunflowers this year, as soon as i can get in the garden again going to pot them and take them to the auction, no use in wasting them.
suppose to go up in the 80's today:wee so glad for some heat. should dry the garden up some so i can plant some seeds, maybe some tomato's, whata think?

Good morning, Chat Folk. @sharron here in the middle of NJ I always count on a possible frost until mid May.
morning sour:frow
yes i know but if i plant something else this early it will just be a couple of seeds that like the cool weather and maybe a couple of tomatoes , when really warm i will stagger more tomatoes and peppers and warm weather veggie seeds

Peas, carrots, parsnips, beets, broccoli, cabbage - all do well here on early plantings. One year we had a heavy frost on Memorial day evening - we'd been celebrating friends' anniversary so I actually had a suit on when we got home. I took off my shoes, rolled up my pants legs, grabbed the hose and misted the frost off of my tomato plants. Princess says I was apologizing to them for planting too soon. I don't remember that so think it's just one of those stories she is always making up about my actions. :p

And I'm a bit peeved at DH about it. Yesterday he said he would go to Rawlins (where we have to buy our groceries) to get a couple things we need. Didn't do it, forgot. Well, guess who isn't going to get their morning coffee tomorrow :barnie And that's exactly how I'm going to look tomorrow morning :lau

This stuff is still coming down. I shoveled my way to the coop, shoveled out the run and found out the heated waterer has shot craps. Again with the :barnie The girls will be fine, I have a non-heated waterer as a back-up. Good thing I'm off work today so I can check them frequently.

After all that shoveling, this looks verrrrrrrrry good to me

Ok, Ms. Crabby Pants is over it! Carry on.
They should be fine just eating the snow. As awful as it sounds, that's what I did with all of mine this past winter & they were fine.

Are you living in your new house yet?
Nope :(
He's tiling the shower right now.
He still has to tile around the tub, lay the floor tile in the bathroom & the kitchen, install the vanity, shower doors, kitchen counter & sink.
At the rate he's moving it will be another month before we can have our final inspection.
