The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I found Calculus pretty Cool....

My brother taught calculus and statistics :tongue

I guess it depends on ones interests! There definitely are people that like math and my uncle actually used to teach math too (though not at my school) but personally, I’ve always been terrible at it and hate it haha

Hello everyone! It's your long absent friend here who is still living in a caravan at the top of a very windy hill (11 weeks as of yesterday).

The kids have been driving us (and each other) mental but this week our DD has gone to stay with my parents so things are a lot calmer. Our DS misses his sister but I don't think the feeling is mutual!

Last night our offer on a property was accepted (once we went up another $5,000), so we have an 11 and a half acre property to put the house we bought a few days ago on!

Companies here make prefabricated houses in their yards that they then truck to your site. We'd gone to look at this particular company's show home last September and I absolutely fell in love with it. I love the layout and the look. When DH rang up to see how long it would take to get them to build us one they actually had one fully finished to show home standard that someone had backed out of. So we've put down our deposit and then had to find somewhere to put it (as otherwise it was an 8-10 month wait as they are so busy).

Our new property is on State Highway 14 but it's relatively quiet traffic wise for a highway. It has the old highway running through the back of the property, no longer sealed but the big old trees that used to line it remain.
There's a big pond that needs cleaning out which is fed by water that runs under the old road - we can hear a little waterfall but it's lost in ferns:

This was when there were cows on it:

And here's the house (these were on their Facebook page as they took 'our" house to an annual rural show called Field Days - it wasn't quite our house at that stage).

This is their website with photos of their 2 show homes. Ours is the Maple.

So now we have all the other bits and pieces to work out and we'll be all set. It's such a relief to know where we are headed rather than being stuck in limbo.

So, what have I missed? How's everyone keeping?

Congratulations Jae!

Wow Jae that new house and property look awesome!!! Are you going to get animals!? :D

Of course! But it will be quite awhile before we can afford to fence it sufficiently for bigger animals. The boundary fence is good though. We were there looking at a few things on Tuesday before we put the offer in and there was a flock of 6 wild turkey passing through. And there were some native birds too so I love that. I think we'll need some ducks to keep the insect population down though, especially with that pond, but they don't need fences.
