The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Of course! But it will be quite awhile before we can afford to fence it sufficiently for bigger animals. The boundary fence is good though. We were there looking at a few things on Tuesday before we put the offer in and there was a flock of 6 wild turkey passing through. And there were some native birds too so I love that. I think we'll need some ducks to keep the insect population down though, especially with that pond, but they don't need fences.

That’s awesome!! You are going to have a lot of fun making it yours!

And slowly building up the animal count and maybe eventually a garden :lau :hide

Ducks will be fun!!!

Hello everyone! It's your long absent friend here who is still living in a caravan at the top of a very windy hill (11 weeks as of yesterday).

The kids have been driving us (and each other) mental but this week our DD has gone to stay with my parents so things are a lot calmer. Our DS misses his sister but I don't think the feeling is mutual!

Last night our offer on a property was accepted (once we went up another $5,000), so we have an 11 and a half acre property to put the house we bought a few days ago on!

Companies here make prefabricated houses in their yards that they then truck to your site. We'd gone to look at this particular company's show home last September and I absolutely fell in love with it. I love the layout and the look. When DH rang up to see how long it would take to get them to build us one they actually had one fully finished to show home standard that someone had backed out of. So we've put down our deposit and then had to find somewhere to put it (as otherwise it was an 8-10 month wait as they are so busy).

Our new property is on State Highway 14 but it's relatively quiet traffic wise for a highway. It has the old highway running through the back of the property, no longer sealed but the big old trees that used to line it remain.
There's a big pond that needs cleaning out which is fed by water that runs under the old road - we can hear a little waterfall but it's lost in ferns:

And here's the house (these were on their Facebook page as they took 'our" house to an annual rural show called Field Days - it wasn't quite our house at that stage).

So now we have all the other bits and pieces to work out and we'll be all set. It's such a relief to know where we are headed rather than being stuck in limbo.

So, what have I missed? How's everyone keeping?
Good to see your back Jae! Very nice house!

Home from work and finally feel like I'm getting caught up...just 1 day off and it's taking me 2+ days to make up!

Good morning, all.

Hi Sour, hope your day is going well!

Morning Debby. Work, playing with the puppies, making a list to restart a mealworm farm. You feeling any better?

Hope you are having a good day too IM! I'm tired and this darned cough does not want to go away but other than that, I'm doing pretty well. Thanks for asking!

Hi Jae, so good to hear from you! Wow girl, you guys have been busy! The property looks great, the trees are so nice to have. And your house looks gorgeous, very roomy. That was a very timely find to get one that is already finished...you've waited long enough. Congratulations on the house and the property! You'll have to squeeze a bit of time in here & there to keep us posted on how things are progressing :D

We went to see Little Diane - that was interesting
Oh do tell!!!! And lunch with Terri? (Or should I not ask?)

Her whole family is that way so that’s what they’re doing....finding sweets and devouring them.
:(

Oh, they are still doing them. Jenny’s mom said there might not be many more chances to get all 6 of her grandkids together for such an opportunity.
The photographer can do a little magic on that cut.

Morning all
From your avatar, I think there is a possibility the dogs are refusing to acknowledge that it was morning!

They should give you a discount since it was a demo unit ;)
The property looks great! And you get an instant house!!
Yeah, that pond might like some dredging.

So, what have I missed? How's everyone keeping?
A bunch, but not as much as we missed you!!! :hugs :hugs

IM has some smart doggies
You killed Mr. Bill? You need to lay off the Stephen King
