The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Okay, panic is officially setting in....I only have 42 days left before I throw the biggest party of my life - a 3 day party with about 200 (+-) guests. As the kids say, OMG!! And we haven’t been home long enough to get it all put together, <gack>

I have the parts for the table decorations at my Ladies’ Luncheon, but they aren’t assembled. I have the parts for my welcome bags, but they aren’t assembled. I have the parts for my Ladies’ gift bags, but they aren’t assembled either! I need to buy tons of acrylic paints, brushes, and little canvases so Tam and I can teach Q-Tip painting as our little activity after lunch. I have to order small organza bags yet. I found the ones I want but need to place the order, TODAY!! I still haven’t heard from the band I’ve been trying to book. I sent a quick email to the venue to see where we are for hotel reservations and there still aren’t enough to get Tam and Jenny’s rooms comped. Event registrations for Grand Lodge are just trickling into the Grand Secretary’s office.....what if I throw a party and nobody comes?.....but our Grand Secretary assures me that this trickle becomes a flood as the date draws closer. He said as the Registrations come in he’s getting their packets of meal tickets and the schedule of events done and in their little folders, which I also have to get from him and put into the welcome bags.

Oh, and I don’t have anything figured out to put in the visiting dignitaries’ baskets. Those registrations are really coming in fast, thank goodness! So far we have registrations from Grand Masters or his reps, and their ladies, from Arizona, South Dakota, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Nebraska, Virginia, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Alaska is a “possible” because they always come, but haven’t sent in the registration form yet. I have no items promised for the Silent Auction yet. The Hospitality Room is covered, I found out this morning. The ladies of the Order of the Beauceant are handling that for me.

Gotta take Jenny out shopping for a formal. Tam will probably need one too. I’m set there so I don’t need a new one. Kendra needs at least one frilly dress for the formal banquet. Katie’s got her formal outfit. Oh, man! Until I started writing it all out I didn’t realize how behind I really am! I’ve now taken myself from panic to frenzy!

Not that hard ron.. When you buy a flat of plants (I get like 1/4 of a flat) they have info with them about sun, watering, preferred locations etc. In a container you have more control over keeping weeds out, and if you boost them UP. Less chance of deer eating them to the nubs.

Speaking of which, noticed today, all my hosta had flower stems with the flowers bitten off.

If thoughts could kill - well you know..............
The deer ate my entire hosta plants, right to the ground. They don't seem to care for the solid green ones.

Take a deeeeeeep breath B, you can do this! Wish I was closer so I could help with the bags and decorations. Can any of the other ladies in your close group lend a hand? Seems like a lot for one person, but if anyone can do it, you can!
