I'm awake..... I was going to bed early last night...then I saw the little tiny x on one of the eggs in the incubator. That was around 12:30. At 4:45 the little stinker woke us up! He/she is noisy and active - Ken just came out from the bedroom and said the chick was all the way on the other side of the incubator in one of the other baskets!

Ain't Little Yokel just the cutest thing???

Funny how they have to announce their entrance into the world at full volume like that. About 4 hours from pip to out - sounds like a strong chick, too! Congrats, Blooie!

Thanks! I have one more that's rocking a little bit, and I just went in to check. I can't believe what I saw! No change on the "rocker" yet, but one of the Cream Legbars has a big pip - I could see his beak poking in and out already... I swear there was NO sign of life in those 2 eggs last time I checked them, and since the last candling they'd just been sitting there. In less than an hour and half a pip that big! Wow! So that means I may get three!!! I'm so glad I didn't pitch the eggs I doubted so much!
