Anyway, my question is, are these safe?

If they pass the float test, I figure they are good. I eat those. If they don't float I would dump them. Haven't had to do that.

I started having that problem a few weeks ago. Have had chickens for 7 years and NOW someone decides to bury eggs? I THINK it is Penelope, she is 4 years old. I had replaced the shavings in those nest boxes with lots of nice fresh shavings. I even lost eggs due to, I THINK, unsuspecting hens stepping into the nest box and piercing an egg with their toenail. Her favored box now has only about 2" of shavings.

They are at that awkward stage.

Was she even a BIT contrite? I don't know what all was said when you were out but I gather the guys could have just about turned her into a block of stone with the looks you described.

Not necessarily. I think I would have pulled her manager in for that meeting. Someone above her NEEDS to know there is a problem who will MAKE SURE that every little i is dotted and t crossed from now until the event is over. No way she should be able to fix it and sweep it under the carpet. She needs to be called ON that carpet. You don't just click the "cancel" button on an event of that size that was scheduled that long ago without serious double checking.

Blooie, I would make sure the GM knows what's going on and that he's at risk of losing future events.

Bruce, her brother is the GM and new owner. Don’t know what I’d get from him, since he probably hired her, so it’s easier just to try to get along so I get get this whole event past me. So far no more complaints from people calling and asking why they couldn’t get rooms, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

I dunno where I am here...so I’ll just send you all hugs. Leaving for Denver at 5:00 am, so if I don’t finish packing I’ll probably still be up when he gets up.

I wasn't aware that Holiday Inns were "privately" owned. Things like this situation give the entire chain a bad name. I hope it is all smooth sailing from her on!

Yep, they are. The ones in Cody and Riverton are owned by one guy, too, hence the reason we didn’t contract with Cody for our GL back in 2016. They wanted $159.00 a night, special reduced block rate, and wanted to be able to add into our contract that if local rates in other hotels increase, they could also increase theirs by up to 20%! I don’t think so! That would have been like signing a blank check. So we moved it to Sheridan. We really wanted Cody - it’s a cool little town, so close to the Park that folks could have gone there afterwards, and the downtown district has the neatest shops. Plus we would have been close to family, easier on Jenny with Kendra because they could just attend the various functions and then go home until the next day’s activities. But not at those rates. They also wanted $1000.00 for the large meeting rooms and $300.00 for the small ones. We’d have needed them all. Nope. In Sheridan we got all of the meeting rooms, large, medium, and small, for a flat $500.00, with no extra charges for mics, vendors’ tables, and the other incidentals Cody wanted to bill separately, and the banquet halls were larger in Sheridan.

And wow so weird we both started having the same issue around the same time and with hens around the same age!! I wonder if it has anything to do with weather or the time of year or anything? So odd. I never had this issue before either. But I now have far less shavings in there and so far so good. My hens will be 4 at the end of October. So only a few months away. Although I just realized, I wonder if the littles could be going in there to explore or play or whatever do and burying eggs?? They’ve been out there a while.

And thank you @Blooie !! I don’t know what it is but lately I have been so productive haha maybe it’s partly because I was already doing stuff? I had to dog sit so I was already up doing stuff so maybe that made it easier to do other stuff? Idk. But lately its like I feel lazy if I don’t do it so I’ve been forcing myself to ha which, admittedly, I usually am pretty lazy but all of a sudden I’m not and it’s kind of freaking me out

I mean, I still am to some extent, still spend way too much time on the phone and/or procrastinate doing things/plant or sometimes am almost late because of it, but I’ve also been trying to get stuff done before I do fun stuff like the movies today or using the phone.

It’s so weird ha

Even now, I thought tomorrow I was just going to take a day to chill and relax and sleep in because I’ve been working for 3 days straight (and an extra day Saturday) plus going to the festival Sunday and practically no sleep all week or longer because of the work and various other reasons, so I wanted to just relax.

And now is the perfect time to do it since I don’t have to work for like 2 weeks (I do still have one client but that one’s easy and fun and mostly just hanging out, no walking involved).

But yet.... now I don’t want to. I want to get more done. Or go on a walk. Or do something. Which is so weird because normally I would be lazy. But I want to work more. Idk where this is coming from

That said, I think I will probably at least sleep in a little but I am also determined to not waste the day and sit around.

But I should probably at least slow down a tiny bit or not do too much at once because I’ve already been running on overdrive for a while/way longer than usual so otherwise I’ll crash if I try to do too much ha especially since I have determined I am definitely coming down with a cold. But I won’t let myself just sit around. Although I will say I’ve had a long, eventful day and I am about to crash right now

Good morning all. It’s going to be another hot one today. The power went out at 10:30 last night for a couple hours. I’m glad it was night so it didn’t get too hot in the house. Mother nature was putting on quite a show this morning.
