The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Also before anyone asks, yes I was browsing the Wyoming Craigslist haha I like browsing Craigslist in various states and looking at the horses :lau sometimes pets too. Anyway, usually try to choose states/areas I figure will have lots of horses :lau

Good morning everyone!

DMC, that was one cool light show you had last night. Did you get rain too?

No rain for us here, just lots of 90-something degree weather. It's going to be hot, hot, hot in the kitchen today!

B, too bad your event couldn't have been in Cody (but entirely understandable). Such a pretty and nice little town!
It lasted for a long time too. Thank goodness, no rain! I feel bad you have to cook in that heat. My morning job was cool but afternoon kicked my butt.
G'morning all :frow

DMC love the video, thanks for sharing. I still get butterflies in my belly when the thunder rumbles, love storms!

Blooie, safe travels!

Happy Thursday everyone :)
I love storms too. I was sitting on the deck at 4:00 this morning watching the clouds roll by.

Don't worry, he probably won't live long enough to add to the gene pool!
:gig

OMG! Lol that’s really sad but probably true.

Sad but true probably

Makes sense! Ha they say nurses and doctors and stuff have warped/dark senses of humor too and some other professions. I guess you’d kind of have to be after seeing what they see all the time... otherwise you’d probably go crazy or get really depressed or whatever ha wait.... you’re a nurse too, aren’t you? Or used to be?
Yes, I retired, but I was a nurse for a long time.

Well I have a cell phone but, it never leaves the house. So when I'm out just look at traffic, broken curbs or sidewalks, and really nice lookin' men. I hardly make it obvious at all. But if they start walking faster, so do I. I heard that's good for the heart.

Good morning, igorsMistress! :frow

Good afternoon HuffleClaw :frow
I was having technical difficulties this morning but hope you're having a great day!!

This kid has crossed the road like 3 times with his head completely buried in his phone, not even looking where he’s going or looking before crossing, and the first time he almost walked into a car. And then he takes forever to collect the carts because he stands there still using his phone... yes he is supposed to be “working.”

And no this would not be me LOL I did think about how I might look cause I do tend to use mine a lot but I always look before crossing and also if I had a job to do I would not be using it. Or at most I might look at it like once or twice, idk if I could totally resist, but I like to think I could and even if not, I definitely wouldn’t be glued to it and so oblivious.

Sorry I know this is really random but I just A. Was getting really frustrated watching this kid and figured you guys would share the frustration (and actually I saw an older gentleman watching him too then roll his eyes when he walked away lol clearly felt the same way as me) and B. I saw another post on another thread mention something about kids living for phones/technology or something that made me think of it. But yeah, I was getting annoyed watching him lol idk how old he was, maybe like high school.
:gigI walked up behind a kid who was supposed to be cleaning the bathrooms but was scewing around on his phone watching videos. I watched for maybe 15 seconds or so and then said excuse me right in his ear, quietly in almost a whisper, and he almost dropped his phone:lau He was beet red when he left the ladies room.

Nice! We have family friends who practically the entire family are nurses haha

No that's the Capricorn. I live with one, I know this to be fact.

If you couldn't you leave it locked in the car. Work time is for working, that is what people get paid for.

Seems like he needs to be called out on it. And if you see him again in the future, talk to the store manager. I'm sure things wouldn't go well if he got hit by a car out in the lot.

Okay that’s actually really funny! :gig
Ah, the Darwin Award. Sadly some who deserve and earn it manage to procreate before they go.

But if they start walking faster, so do I. I heard that's good for the heart.
Do you ever catch any of them?

Well I have a cell phone but, it never leaves the house.
What use is it if it never leaves the house? I keep forgetting my new smartphone in the house. I kept the old phone, a basic flip, in the car. We have no cell signal here so there was no reason to bring it in the house.

Hmm that’s true. I’m sure I’d be able to. As much as I get stuck using it sometimes and take forever to get started or go do things because of it, once I do finally get started, I work really hard at stuff ha so I’m sure I could put it down and actually work. In fact, I’d probably be one of the only ones actually working.

Sadly it seems everyone is on their phones doing nothing at work these days. Especially at places like the movie theater or Subway or something. Granted, at those places, sometimes there is nothing to do for long periods so it’s maybe more okay to do until there’s a customer but still. Even then I think I’d find something to do.

Today we went to Lowe’s and my mom went to look for grass seed while I sat inside and anyway, she told me later about how she went up to this kid in the booth thing in the garden section and asked him if he knew where the grass seed. Kid, maybe 18, basically goes “uhhh no sorry I don’t know where that is.” And that’s it. Doesn’t offer to help her look for it or ask if he can call anyone else or anything. And one grocery store we go to there’s often kids just hanging around talking/doing nothing. Seems to be a recurring theme. Hiring young kids that don’t care. And the stores don’t seem to care either since they never get fired or in trouble. Guess maybe they just need bodies.

But meanwhile, I often find myself literally fixing/rearranging stuff when I go into stores. Find stuff in the wrong spots or whatever, put it in the right spot, etc. sometimes do it at Walmart or the grocery stores. I’ll notice it seems the kids or whoever is stocking will just see that something is already in that spot and assume that’s where it goes and just put the rest there. Well, often it’s not and they just don’t care. Or maybe are being rushed, idk. Seems there’s more of a demand to just get the stuff out than necessarily in the exact right place. Anyway, they don’t check the little label on the shelf or whatever. I do and sometimes find it in the wrong spot and fix it. Not my job but it annoys me and I do it :lau sometimes I find books in the wrong section at the pet store and put them in the right one. You know, like somebody put a bird book in the rodent book shelf, or a cat book in the dog books, or even worse, sometimes a dog book in the bird book section (those two are all the way across the store from each other) or something and I’ll walk all the way across the store and put it back. One time there were some seeds pack things on an end cap in the wrong spot at the store but they were just all mixed in with other packs and they just put more where they saw other seeds were. Well I fixed it and put them all in the right one and found 2 of the things were actually empty. Not my job but I do little stuff like that all the time. I should really be getting paid for it. :lau

So many people now just don’t care. Mostly the kids but some older people too. But it’s almost like they don’t want you to care. They just want you to shut up and do the work. Or not do it. Just stand there. Whatever. They don’t care ha

And ehh, yeah he probably does but I don’t want to get him in trouble and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen him so I don’t really wanna start something or go to the manager or anything. I probably should but I hate going to managers or any sort of complaint/conflict/awkward situation at all even if it’s for his own safety haha plus I don’t think he’s the only one and a lot of them just hang out inside anyway ha but I think if I see him sometime what I might do rather than go to his manager and get him in trouble is I may stop him and tell him myself that he should really watch where he’s going/put that away but like be nice about it, say I just don’t want him getting hit or something. Idk. But I doubt I’ll see him again. If I do though I’ll do something.

And you are so right! There are sadly many, many people who should not have kids that do. :/

You have no signal!? Then what do you do!?
