morning debgood morning NFC and Sharron
Try spending six hours in the ER explaining to grandma over and over and over again why it was taking so long. She almost collapsed in her new Home and the care giver panicked. So I told them to send her to the ER.
By the time I got there she was having a CT scan... She was happy when the men were taking care of her but would get very impatient when the female Nurses would come in to do things.
Her first time in a diaper and she was having a fit about needing to go to the restroom... She talked constantly wouldnt take a nap fussed over the IV which is a panic trigger for me.... I used to pass out...
I sat there and watched her blood pressure though.... It would swing from dangerously high to dangerously low.... almost every other reading.
Doc came in finally and said her blood work was perfect her CT scan showed nothing abnormal for someone who is 103. Then she noticed one of her hands shaking.... Had her raise up her arms and the tremor was obvious.
Diagnosis.... slight parkiinson... This could be what is causing her blood pressure to swing like this.... in someone younger they would do an MRI and a bunch of more tests. But it wouldn't change her quality of life at this point.... and The Stress of the tests may make her dimensia worse.
The suggestion was to put her under Hospice care. meaning a nurse comes in once a week and checks on her... Yay.... Medicare pays for it...
So now grandma is back in the home the caregiver is still nervous about taking care of her. and I explained to her what was going on with grandma. and that she hasnt had an episode of this for more than a year. and I apologized for forgetting to tell them.
No worries they are qualified for Hospice care....
I am still recovering for the quarter mile walk from the parking lot.... Nurse took pity on me and followed me to the car... even if I had to rest several times on the way out.
Good note on this... I was just out of breath... and able to stand everytime I got up to walk some more.
this is four times farther than I could have walked at almost 400 pounds.

i'm so sorry you had to go thru this is grandma but at least you found out she might be able to go awhile longer(i never knew mine) and that for her age shes fairly healthy
and its good that altho you aren't up to running a race, you are able to walk more than you use to, thats a big plus, soon you be able to run that race, if you want that is
for you and grandma
