Good morning everyone. I bet it will be another hot Sunny day here. Yesterday when I got up at 6 the ground was damp. It was shocking. I think we had precipitation 3 times all summer. Way too dry.

Welcome back. Sounds like you had some fun for sure. Glad you only had one day of sickness!Good morning everyone!
Just got done skimming through the past several days worth of posts to catch up with all of youAll the gardening talk is making my hands itchy to get in some dirt but our winter is fast approaching so guess that isn't going to happen for a while.
Son and I had a great time (other than the first day when I was sick all day). Devils Tower was amazing and worth the trip to see. We got there early Thurs. morning and took one of the hiking trails around the base (the shorter one, it was 1.5 miles). The area has a really interesting history.
We went down the road from where we stayed to Sundance, Wy that same afternoon and wandered through the Crook Co. museum for a few hours.
Friday we drove on over to Rapid City, SD and spent the day at the Reptile Gardens. Haven't been there in probably 20 years and had so much fun! What a beautiful place, the landscaping was amazing and of course, so were the animals
I have lots of photos but haven't uploaded them yet. Will get that done later today and will share a few.
Time to get more coffee, see you all soon!
We are getting rain! Love it! Feels like fall. Tried to get the colors on our mountain, but too cloudy. Still.. pretty. View attachment 1921048 View attachment 1921049. Yesterday....
Great pictures, Debby!Time for some pictures!
Here are a few shots of Devils Tower and the view of the valley from where we trail walked. The tower is 867 feet from base to top and 1,267 feet above the Belle Fourche River.

One of my favorite critters to see, Black Tailed Prairie Dogs. There's a huge colony of them on the road going up to the Tower and another colony of them at the Reptile Gardens.

These are from Sundance, WY (Harry Longabaugh took his name from this town, you might recall a movie called Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid). Had to include the world famous Jackalope photo.
