The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Used to buy real small sizes and imagine I would someday shrink to fit them. Or a bunch of too too large jeans, thinking I would grow some more - didn't.

Happy New Year!

About to partake in the annual pork & kraut. Mmmm

Anyone else have a traditional thing they eat every new year's day?
Curious. I've never heard of that as a traditional New Year's day food but a YouTube channel I follow said they were having the same thing! How common is it across the country/continent/world to have pork and kraut on New Year's Day?

old dutch good luck for the coming year, kraut and what goes better with kraut than pork of some kind down south its hopping john and pork chops or butt roast, know we always had the black eyed peas,or hopping john along with rice and usually pork roast if we had the money, if not, what momma and daddy called white meat which is fat back cured with salt:idunno

Don't remember what exactly we had on New Years day for dinner but it always included black eyed peas! Most likely we had venison, mash potatoes with mushroom gravy and black eyed peas and fresh made yeast rolls.

Afternoon everyone! :frow

Cool, dreary day here...sprinkling occasionally. :barnie

Afternoon Sean :frow It's been raining here since this morning and not supposed to stop until sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening :barniewe already have rivers over flowing-so flooding is a concern in low areas :(

Way back before my mom passed away - my brother used to take us out to a movie and then ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Now we don't do anything. The neighbors however shoot off massive fireworks /explosions the days before, the day of, and for days after until they run out of fire power.
