The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

:hugsGood morning Sharron. I was grumpy, I wanted to here but didn't want to be a downer 😊 I'm better today.
another thing in common
i usually just read and don't say much altho thats usually hard for me 😁 but i think it has to do with the weather sometimes but glad you're feeling better

My list is short today. Work on the office. But the tasks to get that done are a bear!! We’re not doing anything tomorrow so the more we get done today the better. Tomorrow we are going up to Billings and I’m blowing this kidney diet out of the water! Steak dinner with all the trimmings. I will pass on the celebratory margarita with extra salt, though.

Man I hope things aren’t as serious as they sound. Remember when we were kids and the only thing we really feared was getting caught doing mischief, or facing meatloaf and broccoli for dinner? Kids today have to worry about things we never dreamed of.

Good morning, everyone!! Guess I’d best get at it.
Sometime in January a threat had been written on one of the bathroom stalls that something would happen on February 28th. Not sure on the details of that other then it was a threatening message. The child was caught, not sure how they figured that out either. On Wednesday the janitor found another threatening message and due to the timing (February 26th) they closed and took the threat seriously. The child from the first threat is no longer there. School is definitely scarier. We have several children with behavioral problems at the daycare I work at and I wonder how they will turn out as teenagers.
Got all my chores done today and it feels good!

Taxes taken care of. Car gassed up. Mail picked up. Pantry cleaned out. Trash all taken to the dumpster. Golf course checked out.

I'm done!
:yesss:
What I've learned in 52 years of marriage:
1. You don't marry your best friend - you get married and if you're very lucky that person then becomes your best friend.
2. "We need to get this done..." is testosterone-ese for "YOU need to get this done."
3. Little projects a wife has in mind will become over-engineered to the point where he can suddenly say, "Geez, this is gonna be way too expensive...we'll need to put it off for awhile yet." Deal with it or learn to use a screwdriver and hammer.
4. In an argument both parties are wrong - the one who is really wrong but is stubbornly sticking to his/her guns and the one who is making a big deal out of it.
5. Trying to make over your spouse is an exercise in futility - why would you choose somebody special and then try to make that person into someone else - unless you should have chosen someone else to start with?
6. Anniversaries aren't celebrations of your years together - they are celebrations of your life together. After enough time the number of years are totally forgotten and the warmth of memories remains.
7. It's surprising, when you look back, how many of the times you loved each other the least were the times you needed each other the most.
8. If you think marriage is 50/50, do yourself a favor and get a dog instead of a spouse. A dog will give you 100% and be satisfied with half of that from you.
9. It's amazing that just when you're down and at your lowest your spouse is strong and lifts you up, and how true the same is when your spouse needs your strength.
10. "Love is enough to see us through" is a myth. It takes so much more than love. It takes courage and vulnerability, gentleness and strength, passion and quiet. laughter and tears, and total commitment.
That's my story, and it's worked so well for 52 years that I'm sticking to it!
Congratulations Blooie, well said!

Morning to you DMC! What's on your agenda for the day? Do you have any more baking jobs to do?
Hi Debby! As little as possible 😁 I’m doing cupcakes for a friends daughter’s graduation in May. I talked her into 300 mini’s vs 300 regular cupcakes or I couldn’t do it. After a person goes to so many grad parties you’re full anyway.
What are you up too?
DH just called from Casper. He keeps a close eye on the weather forecasts and told me we're supposed to get 4-8" of snow starting late tonight and going throughout tomorrow. Please, let the weather folks be wrong!
Sorry Debby!
:frow Good morning DMC, have a great day. I'm glad they took appropriate action, school is definitely a scary place these days.

Debby, here's hoping the weather dorks are wrong :fl
Hi Bob, you also.
