The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Ahh the first day of spring in Wyoming (dead weeds and it's snowing) :gig

Sorry your mom has to have surgery IM. When does she go in?

I got an email from them this morning and it looks like they're doing what they can. This was a reassuring part of their message,
  • We are increasing our inventory supply for essential products such as livestock feed, equine feed, pet food, water and propane.
So good to see that email, you're the second person I've seen this from. My mom is supposed to have surgery next week. Of course we're going to question whether she should delay or not. So far I haven't heard of anyone on my side of town being quarantined so maybe with the shut down it's the best time to do it. I dunno.

Good morning Sharron! :frow

Good morning Bob! :frow
:frow Good afternoon Sean, have a great day
Good morning, everyone. Judging from their website TSC is going to stay open with adjusted hours and an activated phone in pick up service. Good news.
:frow Good afternoon Sour, have a great day

Well, as of 11.59pm tonight (about the time you guys start to get up) our borders are closed to everyone except for permanent residents and citizens (and their families). That's pretty darn huge!
Canada did something similar yesterday. DD1 is stuck in Canada whether she wants to be or not. She's on a student visa and has health insurance as long as she stays in Canada or is gone for no more than 30 days. That 30 day thing wouldn't work out. And good thing she stayed or she wouldn't be able to get back in. She and 3 friends move into a 4 bedroom house on May 1, they have a 1 year lease. Too bad the lease didn't start 6 weeks earlier.

Must be tough for you guys having her be so far away at a time like this, but at least she's got her friends to support her and access to medical treatment if required (hopefully not). :hugs

New Zealand's economy relies heavily on tourism so it'll be quite a blow to that sector.

Oh, she needs it. She is on Aimovig for her migraines, self injected every 28 days. Not cheap stuff without insurance. They are being tossed from the dorms on Sunday (at least they got a 1 week notice). The next 3 weeks will be in an AirBnB on PEI with one of the girls, then 2 weeks in the girl's family's summer camp (also on PEI) presuming the well will be thawed by then.

Yeah tourism is big in the USA as well. LOADS of people will be unemployed soon. I suspect my niece, who's wedding we went to last Sat in So. Cal., will be one of them. She is an event planner. Not much to plan when "gatherings" are supposed to be held to 10 people or fewer.
