The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

One daughter, love her dearly, but oh yeah there were those years.

She's not even 13 yet but I'm already longing for the days when it'll get better. She was such an easy toddler. No tantrums, perfect to take anywhere. I knew we'd pay for it when she hit puberty.

She'll revert back to her easy going self when she's about 28. First you have to go through the teen years, and then you have to wait through the early 20's when they know everything.

Hang in their Jae!

In addition to father/daughter, mine was my buddy - very much involved with the dogs. Then we hit that spell when I did not particularly like her, and she came close to hating me. Perhaps in addition to puberty it was the similarity of our personalities. We survived it, and I now counsel others on how to better handle this phase. The Princess was/is so more intelligent about interpersonal things. I should have listened to her.

Yes, this one is very like her father. They are both Leos and boy do they know how to roar! I can see them having quite a few conflicts as she grows.

DS and I are Aquarians.

🤣

Um, is that a term of endearment in NZ??

Then its a good thing you don't live in snow country!
But .... what do you do in the summer down there in the hot south?

I'm sure there are lots of things at Jae's new place to keep her DH busy!

Wow, 21 hours straight! I'd have a heck of a time doing that.

Time for the cars with the blue (or is it red in WY) lights to come by and sweep everyone out of those places.
The same thing everyone else does in winter. Close up the house, draw the drapes closed and hunker down.

So then in the summer you say (and I quote you directly):
"I hate it when the house smells stuffy and closed up."
??

Hi Bruce! Have you heard from you DD in Canada lately?
Enough to get her driver's license info so I could eFile her taxes. Pretty sad really, she's been claiming self employment so she can have SS credits in the future. Some pet sitting and such, so she owes $90 in SS and Medicare taxes. No income tax Fed or State but I ended up paying $25 to eFile the state taxes since we have no idea how easy it would be for her to print the TurboTax forms and get them mailed from Canada.

Most definitely! It's one of those Aussie slang words Kiwis have borrowed. It means troublemaker/rascal. I think it's very fitting.
Here the term would be RugRat or CarpetCreeper :D

Oh we are in SUCH trouble with DD2!! She was a difficult child, the "black look", angered easily. She's gotten better though you should have seen her complaining about writing out the envelope to mail in her state taxes to get her $20 back. You have thought she was being tortured. Now you are telling me she's going to revert to her grade school self in 3 years? :th
