They are tiny brine shrimp - sold in kits to hatch them. Had one when I was young and was so disappointed they did not look like the pic on the package

Hmmm. If the tree you try to love on is an acacia, it can do you some piercings, for free. Take more that a few Mimosas to make you forget the sting of that, and I'd bet you'd be purple for days - though probably not very peaceful.

'Sea Monkeys' is a triumph of advertising. Nothing monkeylike about them - they are brine shrimp. They've been pitched for generations as pets in full-page ads in things like comic books.
