The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thats a good way to spend the weekend - sorry about the rain though! Not much going on, but managed to get (what i hope to be) two hens that will go broody for my hatching plans. Time will tell. Power problems here make using an incubator a bit of a gamble.

I have a broody hen right now and no rooster to fertilize eggs for her to hatch...she's a bit on the ornery side!

My misunderstanding, I thought you just got your first set of glasses.  It would seem that if they are the correct Rx and you were already used to them they would not feel weird?

Don't think I would like contacts - would still have to use readers since I need matched sides for close work depth perception.

The new glasses are smaller so that in itself is an adjustment. I tried to get as close as I could to the old pair...my husband sat on them... hence the new pair. My sister has worked at this company for going on 18 years and there are some there that have the work ethic of Debby's 21 year old. My sister works very hard and it wears her out because she has to pick up others slack... It's not in her to not care like the others.

Back in another life I managed the animal colony for a major pharmaceutical company. When I was able to hire people with farm backgrounds, I was able to get good help with a proper work ethic and no qualms about getting their hands dirty. Once that source dried up (think urbanization of NJ) it was nearly impossible to hire dependable people. A sense of responsibility is one 'H' of a burden, and many today have not accepted that 'burden'.
