The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

From the sibling point of view I've never really had one. My twin died shortly after birth and I became an only child.
Not going to get into details, but will let imaginations do the work for me... New on-shift nurse, didn't know who was who. The family with same name walked into the hospital and the lady explained this is # 8 and it's coming now. Sue was in x-ray trying to figure out why she wasn't delivering after 27 hours... Nurse walks up to me asks if I'm Mr. xxxx. I said yes. Time to prevent an early breach birth... Wrong Wife! Of course my grandmother and the right husband show up at the same time, grandma wants to know why I'm doing what I'm doing, right husband says I'm doing fine. Nurse and Grandma insisted we switch. Very uncomfortable.... Let's just say I was scrubbing that hand for days. They had a girl, we had a boy, insurance denied the circumcision because "we" had a girl. It took months to sort it out. An experience I never ever want to go through again.

Have you seen the kitchen I designed and built in VA?

That's sad about your twin Bob.

The hospital mix-up with your son...that's crazy! It does remind me of an old Bette Midler & Lily Tomlin movie though. Two sets of parents that both delivered twin girls at the same place and time. Each parent got a Midler/Tomlin set of girls. The girls don't figure it out until they are adults. Fun movie if you ever feel like looking it up some time.

🤣 I had to go and use a conversion calculator to work out how much that would be. That might be a little more than I'd prefer. It would dry up the mud pretty quick though, having had more than an inch overnight.

We are hoping our fire will be installed by the end of the week. It's not so much the heat I miss it's how dry a fire kept the house. It's such a humid climate here and the humidity is always bad inside, but even worse outside (so unless we got an expensive dehumidifying ventilation system installed one of those wouldn't do any good).
Humidity is definitely not a problem here. We are at 10% with a feels like temp of 46C.
My oldest sons birthday is the 12th, he'll be 35, my youngest will be 30 on the 3rd and my son in law will be 31 on the 7th! September is a good month! 💞
We've got the Sept 9, 22, 23, 26 and 30. Used to have the 29th until my SIL passed away. The 26th is a set of fraternal twins. One's a ginger, the other is olive skinned with brown hair.

Definitely a lot of September birthdays. My nephew was also born in September!
Wow, ginger & olive...definitely not identical. Did people have a hard time believing they were twins?

My Mum was an only child but would've had siblings if they'd lived. One died late in the pregnancy then my Nan was pregnant with twins, but the doctor decided to do an internal exam at 20 something weeks and unfortunately that caused her to go into labour and even by todays standards it would have been touch and go as to whether they would have made it. And in those days you still got put in the maternity ward with all the other mothers and their babies, even if you'd just lost yours.

I haven't seen your kitchen either - I'd love to as well.

I think you win the prize for September b-days!

I cannot imagine 10% humidity. Its 94% outside here!

I understand, everything is so up in the air. I've been wanting my son to come out around his birthday (Sept. 25th) but we don't know if it will work out this year or not.
My son and his 4 kids( plus the wife) plan to visit for over a week on October. From Florida.

Oh yes. The girl has dark eyes and hair with olive skin. The boy is a genuine redhead, lots of freckles and blue eyes. Everyone thought the girl was adopted until they saw the grandmas. Both have an olive complexion, blue eyes and dark hair.
