Sounds like you've been a busy lady - glad your house is coming along.
We've been very busy here. Our dam has been dug out and enlarged (now we just need some rain to refill it as DH had drained it) and we had some old Macrocarpa trees (you guys might know them as Monterey Pines?) taken out as they were rotten. They'll be chopped up for firewood.
My nephew came to stay. He's a bit younger that DS but they generally play together well. But after 3 nights here everyone was a bit over it.
DH spotted a possum (Australian brush tailed possum that were introduced here - dumb idea) up by the chickens so I held the torch while he used the pellet gun. It was a big one! They will go after eggs and with my little bantam sitting under a pile of branches on some infertile eggs (I don't want to move her until I have ducklings to give her) we were worried so decided to take care of the pest. Now we have a rat that I found inside the chicken coop during the day yesterday!

We'd lent our pellet gun to my brother in law to try and shoot the hares that keep eating their plants, but he's had no luck yet. DH had to take DD down to Auckland to the orthodontist so he'll drop past on his way back to pick it up again and try and get that rat.
I've put our older chicks outside in their new coop but I'm not letting them loose until that rat has been dealt with because they are only 6 weeks old today.
I just have my first two duck eggs growing beautifully in my incubator. The other two I had in there both turned out to be double yolkers (I've never had one of those from either my chickens or quail)! Only 2 and a half more weeks to go for them which is crazy. Fingers crossed a nice drake will pop out of one of those eggs.
Hope everyone has an awesome day!
