The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning everyone! Hope you all have a great day!

Dehydrating Organic Asian pears today, my son works for an orchardist...so we get these for free! Dale peels, I core slice...remove more core...an apple corer is not quite big enough for these...place in Pineapple juice and arrange in the dehydrators! We will have 20 trays drying when I finished...taking a quick break right now! My grandmother gave me my first dehydrator 35 years ago...I'm still using it today! 💞 We found another on E-bay a couple of years ago and bought it!

I would love to be doing that again, one more step of providing your own food and you know what in it, only thing better is when you grow it yourself.

Agreed...makes all the difference in the world!

They are quite tasty! My kids love them...so that's where most of them go!

Hi Jae! Sounds like you've had a lot going on too! I hope that you can dispatch of and keep the varmints out of your coop!
I really hope that you get the drake you're wanting...that would be pretty awesome! How long do duck eggs take to hatch?
Have a great day!:frow

Mallard derived ducks take 28 days to hatch, but Muscovy take even longer - 35 days! Not long to go now.

Last night I discovered that there are actually 2 rats. I'd say they are a pair as one is quite a bit larger than the other. They like the chocolate bait that's supposed to lure them into the trap we bought (when triggered they get a bolt through the head) but they won't stick their heads in the trap to trigger it, even when they run out of chocolate lure outside the trap. But we'll put some out then sit and wait as that will keep them still long enough to give DH a chance to get them.

I don't know the translation but there is a Spanish saying: "Fish and guests start to smell after 3 days".

I love it! 🤣

Thank you for the info on the ducks! I'm so excited for you!

Hopefully you get both of them soon & there aren't any baby rats!

Ron..glad the air is better for you. Ours was bad from the California fires three days in a row again. Nice big wind today...it's beautiful out there.

Hi Cynthia, good to hear from you! Glad to hear your air has cleared up!
