The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Dutch Brothers started in Oregon and now moving east. The will likely be Nation wide before we know it!
Given I can't remember the last time I got coffee out (and very rarely drink it at home) I doubt I'd notice if they showed up here.

Every year I struggle with an almost defrosted bird.
I had a sudden fear of that. I told the lady at the grocery store I'd pick my turkey up on Wednesday. A few days ago I thought "wait, what if it is frozen? I'll not be eating it until Monday!" But I asked and she said they are fresh (somewhat local farm maybe 40 miles south of here.

I think as long people don’t panic things will be ok.
Aye, and there's the rub!!

I had to look up what a stoat is, nasty little buggars from what you’ve said.
Yep and small, one needs 1/2" hardware cloth to keep them out.

I need to go to the post office and find out what their policy is for live animals. I’ve never picked anything up like that before and with Covid I just want to be sure that I’m prepared
Couldn't you just call the PO and ask, save yourself the trip?

I imagine the fur would make a nice warm neck wrap during the winter months.
She'd need quite a few to make much more than a "Nape of the neck" wrap. One could probably make a fur bracelet with a single stoat.

We will have to remove the base cabinets so that we can run the tile underneath them.
No tile in the kitchen here, it goes in the bathrooms and the mudroom. Every other room gets hardwood.

Sweet potatoes, or yams? (there is a difference) :old
There is though I've heard that most "sweet potatoes" sold in the USA are some type of yam.

The only dessert pie in NZ is apple.
What? No CHERRY??? :hit

Wow..that sucks, so sorry, just what you don't need right now! Hopefully the water damage isn't to bad. Our bathrooms sit above an unfinished portion of our daylight basement & we've had run overs there too...thankfully it wasn't finished!
This one is over a bedroom I use for storage. I want to gut that room eventually but it may be sooner rather then later.

Does Jaffar look sick to any of you? His missing neck feathering. Yes I’m cleaning up that mess today too.View attachment 2423619
Do his ladies "groom" him? Occasionally my hens will pluck my dominant rooster's neck bald like that... he just happily sits there and lets them do it.
