The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Not nice on either the weather or nutcase front! Still, I hope you manage to have some fun

I don't have any big plans for the weekend. Ken has a Masonic workshop scheduled down in Basin later this morning and probably won't be home until until late this afternoon. So I think it's going to be a curl-up-with-a-good-book-and-cup-of-tea day for me. It's my "day off" but I still got up at 4:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. <sigh>

Poor Evan. He got his arm re-x-rayed on Wednesday and the doctor gave them an ortho consult because he wasn't happy with how it looks. He said the bone, which had been nice and straight when it was set, looked like it had shifted out of alignment a bit. Come to find out, smart aleck Evan and a few of his buddies decided to impress some of the girls at school and were lifting weights. Um, yeah, can you say DUMB? Anyway, the ortho doc decided to put a new cast with less padding and a little tighter fit, and made the appointment for Friday. Evan had a boy scout campout he was supposed to attend. Tam had to be the "bad guy" and tell him nope, no dice. With him out on an overnight campout, she'd have no way to know if he started having problems with the new cast being too tight because nobody would be monitoring his fingers for swelling and discoloration. He was crushed. Then ortho called back and rescheduled his re-casting for Monday morning. Yippee....all was suddenly right with the world again! He got to go camping with his buddies! They were going to go up to the Big Horns I guess, but since the forecast called for heavy snow up there and the roads would be rather treacherous, they opted to do their campout locally. Yesterday it was raining intermittently most of the day, not enough to cause any real inconvenience and actually welcome because we just have had nothing all summer. But as of 2 am, it's been a steady downpour - I mean its really been coming down heavily, nonstop, and it's now 6:30 am. I hope he found a way to keep his cast dry and his exposed fingertips warm!

Good morning!

Definitely fall here...the leaves are very yellow now and falling quickly, rain and overcast skies. We got down around 37* last night but by next week it should warm up a bit. Indian summer I guess. Hey, it's the first official day of autumn according to my calendar!

Just remember:

Ok, apparently yesterday (Friday) was the 1st official day of fall. Oh well, close enough!

Have a great day everyone!
