Never knew anything different. In fact until I was a teen and my mother mentioned it made her sad that I didn't see like other people. How was I to know how other people see? I just assumed we all see the same.Don't know how you lived with that for 50 years.

Depth perception is good to about 15'. There are a lot of other cues I use that normally sighted people also use like overlapping objects, shadows, etc. But for 50 years I was effectively blind in whichever eye was not focused. The other eye was just GROSS color and motion. It isn't your eyes that have depth perception, it is your brain taking input from each one and creating a single image. My understanding is that if you have depth perception, the space between solid objects is seen as an object with "solid" dimensions equal to the distance between the objects.
