Chocolate…I want to try making a Swiss Buttercream for frosting. I’ve wanted to try it for a long time. We’ll see how it holds up in the heat.

I've never tried a Swiss Buttercream, only seen it done on tv. Let me know how it works out for you!

Hi Pert, hope you have a good 4th of July also! So do you have experience with fireworks running up your britches? Sounds painful!

The closest I've ever seen to that happening was many years ago when some knucklehead had a back pocket full of bottle rockets and he jumped over a campfire. Sure enough, they caught fire and started shooting out of his back pocket. Other than being embarrassed, he wasn't hurt. The rest of us thought it was hilarious.

DH actually gets here today. He was supposed to come yesterday but had some employee issues to work out.

We're going to do brats with bell peppers & onions. Probably a salad and something for dessert.

What about you guys? Are you having a 4th feast?

I’m sorry your hubs was delayed, I’m sure you’ll be happy to see him. Enjoy your bbq!

Ok Debby, that was a putzy frosting. It took forever to cool down. It is very buttery and it said if you use salted butter that would happen. I will make it one more time with unsalted butter to see if I like it better. My favorite is still the Ermine frosting. That too is putzy but the end product is good. I ended up making funfetti cupcakes instead of chocolate. I’ve never made them and they are not bad. My cupcakes need colored frosting. They are very boring
