The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I feel sorry for all the folks evacuating our southeastern shores - there's always those who stay to loot and plunder - betcha many are eating free chicken tonite

Given a long warning would offer the possibility of protecting our pets. But when a tornado came by very close to our house with no forewarning, I couldn't find my house cat and left her and retreated to the basement/garage, so I do know what you mean.

Yeah, its not an easy time for anyone - exacerbated by the less savoury elements of society, for sure.

   I really don't care for the NO personality doc - I sat or kinda sat in an awkward position in a dental chair in a really cold room for long over an hour.   And then the exam felt like Doc Holiday had arrived with a dental hammer and actually hit my teeth    Yep, it really hurt when he landed that sledge hammer  on the bad tooth.  I'm not kidding - after 3 more sets of X-rays he Hit my teeth - including a good NEW crown on the other side....and then placed a really cold something on the bad and a good tooth...Now the tooth is quite painful again.    Confirmed it to be an abscess....but his schedule is so full I have to live with this sucker for 2 1/2 weeks....I tried to call the other one in town and OMG he only works Mon-Wed :( .  So will have to just have to deal with it.

BTW Matthew is now off FL coast - it won't really effect us here in Central GA - except the coastal evacuations have filled up the hotels and wrecked havoc on our local traffic - we're looking a lot like Atlanta :duc  .

:hugs you reminded me of an abscess I had once. Well, 3 times. Root canals on the same tooth, 3 times. The endodontist had the personality of a wet rock. Maybe its in their handbook.

My regular dentist ended up fixing it by cutting a flap in my gum and drilling to it from below. Had a hole the size of a pencil in my gum.

Hang in there!

My brother decided to ride it out with several of his neighbors. He doesn't even have chickens! Luckily he's not the looting type.

Good morning and happy Friday!

Sunflour, hope your family in FL is ok. Hurricane parties were pretty much standard down in the Keys...no one really wanted to leave, partly because of the risk of having your home looted and partly because it would take so long to get north. The ones that used to worry me were the folks that lived on boats and rode storms out in them!

Sounds like the storm has been downgraded?

Thanks, they are likely all just partying. So glad the worst part is out in the ocean.

OMG riding storms in boats - I don't like even choppy water. But in the Keys would also be frightening - not enough land to buffer a storm.

We are actually hoping to get some rain off Matthew - but if we do it will likely just be tiny spits.

Good Morning, is anyone awake yet?

Thanks to all you great folks for the sympathy, but I am doing better now - :caf

Ok, I give....Phil you have out-sicked me.....OUCH six weeks to deal with that one.  In comparison, this is becoming a tiny toothache :D
not trying to out sick you....but this was just done last Thursday. So my jaw is still swollen and sore. Glad they have an opening. Good luck

Sunflour, so glad you won't have to wait much longer to get in! (And you're not boring anyone, ever!)

I just checked our weather...it's 28* right now but supposed to get up to the low 50's. Since the golf course greens are frosty, we'll be opening late today. Only 9 more days til we close!

After my first father-in-law retired, he golfed every day. He said he had to work no matter what the weather was, so after retirement, he figured he could golf in any weather too!

Morning all - don't work too hard, DMC

!

Love pic, Debby. Guess if ostriches can bury their heads in the sand, why can't a duck give the same idea a crack?

Late starts at the course - I'd be weather watching every day, seeing where i might be able to squeeze an hour or so more in bed!
