The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

That is a good idea.
I had the hardest time finding it on my phone so I finally put me into contacts.
Now I just have to figure out voice mail.

I'm an admitted number nerd. Its what I do, its what I am. But it took me years to remember my own drivers license number. Can quote numbers from way back, can still remember my son's (and even first husband's) social security numbers, but still have to look at my own DL to verify sometimes.

My name is Sour, and I am a number freak too.

Numbers haunt me just for fun.

Numbers are my enemy. The only reason I ever made it through math classes in school was because of my dad. He was an engineer and was a whiz at numbers. He never could figure out why they didn't make sense to me. Poor man, he tried.

Give me words over numbers any day.

all of the men in my family are numbers guys.........lol

my dad, after getting out of the air force worked for NASA, full time, and went to night school got his degree majoring in...........

math.........

in my field, I constantly work with number.....my oldest son a mechanical engineer......

No wonder you sometimes seem to speak a foreign language to me Berts...you're speaking Mathlish.

My father, too, was a numbers guy - my son not so much, but the Princess is significantly deficient in 'number capability'. Is it more PC to say 'number challenged'?

For myself, I prefer the less PC version...number dumb.

I am numerically challenged, but for a different reason - I'm told it's a form of dyslexia. For me, numbers don't stay where they were put by other people; they play leapfrog. It's hard to get the same answer as everybody else when the numbers you are working with aren't in the same order.

Debby, I assume you are taking the southern route over on your Trip-ticket from AAA. They do a really good job MOSTLY - but for some stupid reason when people are going through from the northern route they always send them over Hwy 14A to cross the Big Horns. Now that's probably okay, but they send people pulling trailers or driving big camping rigs that way too, and that's just plain dumb! That mountain EATS tourists! It's steep grades - a 3600 foot drop in only 10 miles - and hairy switchbacks all the way down on our side. On the Sheridan side the climb up isn't much better! In the summer, you can smell the burning brakes. There is a gentler pass over the mountains from Buffalo to Worland, but it isn't the fastest so every time someone comes out and they've had the route mapped by AAA they show good old 14A.

We used to have a lot of engine cooling pullouts and brake cooling pullouts but people being people they usually figured "I'm fine" and drove right past them. So now they are marked "Scenic turnouts" and people pull out to take pictures, cooling their engines and brakes at the same time.

I have that.
It used to annoy me to bits when I was a kid and I was reading a magazine and It would say continued on page 211 and there was NO page 211. ( it was 112.)
I even sat down and wrote a heated letter to Readers' Digest once...

Of course, that was when magazines actually had pages in them.

Blooie. that is good information for NFC to have!
We need a BYC trip planner.
The Garman GPS always sent us through the 'fastest' route, but distance and driveability are not the same.
