The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I know! All of a sudden time seems to have sped up. Today is wrap up stuff. Saturday is load trailer day. Sunday is hit the road day. Whew!

Hey, I got a check yesterday from the auction of our stuff...very pleased with how that worked out.

I have more chicks hatching next week! Does that count? :D

So Debby, will you be able to check in during your trip, or should we not expect to hear from you for several days? I hope you are going to take your time getting there!

Praying for a safe trip for you!

Morning WV! I think more chicks hatching is a good reason to celebrate! Here, enjoy breakfast on the house

I'll probably put the laptop in the trailer just to keep it extra safe so no check in. I hope to come back online when I get there to see that you all had fun without me

Debby, I assume you are taking the southern route over on your Trip-ticket from AAA. They do a really good job MOSTLY - but for some stupid reason when people are going through from the northern route they always send them over Hwy 14A to cross the Big Horns. Now that's probably okay, but they send people pulling trailers or driving big camping rigs that way too, and that's just plain dumb! That mountain EATS tourists! It's steep grades - a 3600 foot drop in only 10 miles - and hairy switchbacks all the way down on our side. On the Sheridan side the climb up isn't much better! In the summer, you can smell the burning brakes. There is a gentler pass over the mountains from Buffalo to Worland, but it isn't the fastest so every time someone comes out and they've had the route mapped by AAA they show good old 14A.

We used to have a lot of engine cooling pullouts and brake cooling pullouts but people being people they usually figured "I'm fine" and drove right past them. So now they are marked "Scenic turnouts" and people pull out to take pictures, cooling their engines and brakes at the same time.

This is a rough outline of the route AAA gave me: head west to TX getting close to Dallas, go north and get close to Denver, then get up to I80 and go across WY til I get there.

I told them about pulling a trailer for the first time and the agent tried to keep me out of big cities and off mountains.

Does anything seem out of whack with that route?

Why would someone want to crawl all the way up on top of the house holding a plate then eat?

If their kitchen looks as disorganized and messy as mine right now, the top of the house is probably a nicer place to eat.

Haha that's cute. Thanks! And with this group, its hard to tell what you will come back to!

But definitely keep that laptop safe. We need you around here! :)

Disappearing ink?

Yeah disappeared right onto someone else's pocket....:th
