The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

@Blooie
sorry to hear about yesterday and the health scare. Hope the meds kick in quickly and you're your usual ornery self. It's nice Ken is there to help out.

DMC, Spud is so pretty! Or handsome! You're right, they do find a way into your heart pretty quick. I never thought I'd have 2 cats, let alone 3 but love them all. And the big guys have now adjusted to little Opie, so watching them play together is a lot of fun. Seems like any time I sit down, there's always a cat in my chair waiting to cuddle, lol.

Sour, I know how your Princess feels...when I'm not feeling well, just leave me alone! Guess that makes us 2 old dogs.

Today's weather report: It's -4* right now with a high of 18* to look forward to. Maybe more snow showers this afternoon. I can see how WY weather would turn a person into a hermit, who wants to go outside when it's like that?

Thanks Debby! I told my husband he needs a playmate now...he didn't say no but he didn't say yes either

You have beautiful cats...love little Opie! It's so stinking cold here today. It says it's 21* but 40 mile an hour winds suck!

Thanks. We caught it very early so the guaifenesin/codeine should thin stuff down and help me get it out, and the nebulizer will make breathing easier. I didn't even suspect pneumonia - haven't felt sick sick - more hurting than sick, and I'm not even sure I even ran a fever.....if I did it was inconsequential and I didn't even notice. Weird, but that's what made me think heart again. A few more days and I'll be right as rain.

It's hard to explain, but the stuff I do for and with Kendra and the family IS how I take time for myself. I can't explain it...I just like me better when I'm with them.

IMO hydrocodone cough med is so much better, but either one will help with the malaise and make you feel better while you get over this.

I understand the comments doing stuff for Kendra and your family

Still happy it wasn't your heart :)

Good morning folks

sunflour it was interesting to read your thoughts on virilisation in hens. We lost KiKi when she was just over one year old but for a couple of months prior to her passing, she was so very noisy and also intent on working her way up the ladder. She had also taken to attempting to crow in the mornings. I do not know why she passed away; she was fine the day before, roosting with the flock overnight and I found her on the coop floor the next morning. It could be a coincidence but I have often wondered if her increased vocalisation could have been the sign of something else going on.

Aaaw DMC Spud is too cute and such lovely pictures!

Hey Blooie I am sorry to hear that you are unwell but pleased it is not your heart. I am myself recovering from an angiogram following chest pains and the discovery that I have coronary artery disease. Luckily the 50% narrowing of one artery was not the cause of the chest pain [that was probably stress]. While the week in hospital etc was not much fun, it is good to now know that I have CAD and can make lifestyle changes etc to manage it.

I hear ya with regards the no tolerance being sick. This last week of not being able to lift anything including cats and chickens, clean the coop, vacuum, peg out washing etc has been the hardest week of my life .. walking around with blinkers on so I can not see what needs doing

However, the risk of opening up the healing femoral artery is a good incentive to behave .. that plus hubby watching me like a hawk and frequently saying “what are you doing”

Wow .. did we have a doozy of a storm roll over last night .. we got woken at 02:30AM by the loudest, window rattling thunder, the light show was incredible and half an inch of rain was dropped.

At the risk of a

todays predicted maximum is 89.5F with an 80% chance of showers and more storms.

Please send snow!

LOL, I thought you meant your DH too (scary when you start to think like sour). Spuds needs a friend!

The Princess never told me that I needed a playmate.

I thought Princess was your playmate?
