The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning, Listeners. It's a beautiful day in Northern Wyoming on this 6th day of January, 2017. In your national news, in a surprise twist to the ongoing election saga, Donald Duck has been appointed to fill the seat in the White House left vacant when Mr. Trump and Ms. Clinton both agreed that it's just not worth the hassle. Mr. Duck's qualifications are questionable, but he will work well with Congress as he's familiar with dealing with cartoon characters.

Across the state, it's a warming trend that has climatologists shaking their heads....it should not be this warm for this time in January. Generally speaking our normal temperatures are in the single digits, not the double digits, during the first full week of January. It is the opinion of this reporter that leaving off the negative sign has no effect in the reported temperatures, although it can make a difference in how long it takes pipes to freeze. Your temperature for the morning commute - if your car will start - will remain right about where they are now, somewhere between "Yikes, it's flippin' cold" and "That does it, I'm moving to Ecuador." which translates to -22 on the thermometer outside the station, so we are indeed into double digits rather than single. Your wind chill factor this morning is -44 degrees, which really doesn't matter because by the time wind chills hit -1 nobody can feel any worse anyway.

In your local news, Mr. Blooie has been up since 4:00 am, starting cars for folks who have unrelenting bosses and/or death wishes. Mr. Blooie reports that it started simply enough with a call from his son who needed some assistance with his vehicle so he could be to work on time at 4 am, meaning by the time he called his father he was already 15 minutes late. Once Mr. Blooie, Jr's vehicle was on the road and Mr. Blooie was on his way back home to stick his cold feet on Mrs. Blooie as she slept, another neighbor called out for help. In the end Mr. Blooie was responsible for 4 more cars being on the road that should properly have stayed parked.

School closures - It will be faster to announce which schools in Wyoming will be open today. Bar None schools will be open with a late start so the busses can be located under the snowdrifts and started. And there you have it, all the news that you need to start your day. And now, back to some music!

DH just shouted down the stairs that he cannot take his morning shower...apparently we have some frozen pipe issues.

The only water coming out is hot and I don't know why, but he doesn't feel like being boiled alive today.
