Teila looks like you live in the Garden of Eden , which I'm sure never had snow. I see some left over watermelon on the side

Tee hee Diva you have a good eye

It is definitely my little piece of paradise, I love spending time in the garden with the gals and yep, watermelon is a staple in summer to help with hydration.

Yep, your snow is much prettier and it goes away by itself .. not so much Lilly Pilly flowers

It is a beautiful tree and provides heaps of shade.

I have not ventured into making any but apparently Lilly Pilly jam is very nice. The girls have a great time eating the fruit when it falls.

The majority of the shade in this picture is being provided by the Lilly Pilly:

Love the foot bridge and pond! Do you have fish in the pond?

Aaaw, thank you! .. Yep, we have fishies; two in the middle pond who did not get the memo about out growing their surroundings and are now nicknamed 'The Baby Moby's' and three in the lower pond. Some are 6 or so years old now. Sadly, while we will be taking the ponds when we move to set up at our new home, the fishies will not be coming with us .. just a bit to hard to trek them that distance, along with the chickens and cats etc.

The filter is solar powered and drains from the bottom pond up to the top which feeds to the middle pond and then back into the bottom. The local bird life love the top pond and use it as their bath. I enjoy the sounds of the water, very relaxing.

:love Beautiful pond and fishes.

@Teila Love the pond and fishes, try putting cut oranges in the pond the Koi love them and for some reason it makes them breed like rabbts no disrespect intented to bunnies

Ah, cool, thank you for the tip whoop whoop. They actually do breed like rabbits

but we have never had any babies; they just eat the eggs or any little ones that might manage to hatch. That is kind of OK, the ponds are not big enough for any more.

@Teila sorry thats awful, how often do you feed it has to be up to six times in summer, which is odd you would think in hot weather they would eat less, but not so - and in winter once. Sorry not trying to say you don't know how to look after your fishes - also have you got a rock in the pond so they can hide the eggs. I have a monster hungry shark which jumps out and goes for 'yarp' my bird when he pinches their food - so I put a huge rock that they can lay under. Anyway your pond looks really beautful - I neverknew how much work goes into fish - sometimes I wish I had thought twice, but it is lovely looking at them and I agree so peaceful.

PS are you hot again today, we are!

Hhhhm, now I am bit confused! “Six times in summer” and “in winter once”? I feed them every evening

Just a pinch of flakes but they get fed every day.

Yep, we have lots of place for the eggs to settle where they probably can not be eaten but after many spawning episodes over the years, no babies.

Predicted maximum today was 89.5F [32C]. I am not sure if we got there but at 06:00PM it is still 86F [30C]

Good morning

We ended up getting about 1.5" of snow yesterday and more expected today. I still have gotten used to how the temp can be that cold but it doesn't feel like it because there's so little humidity (unless the wind is blowing, then all bets are off).

Yesterday there was a small herd of antelope in the backyard snuffling around finding plants to eat. I'm really looking forward to seeing the babies this spring. Hope this year I can get some good pictures of the little ones.

You all stay warm or cool, depending on what you need, today!
