The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone, DH's hernia repair surgery went just fine! He's back home and sleeping off the anesthesia now. The doc warned him tomorrow might be rough seeing as how it's so close to the, ahem, "sparkly bits". But knowing DH, I'm going to have to watch him like a hawk to keep him from doing too much.

Blooie, hope Ken gets his blood pressure under control. Sorry sour, but men aren't always good about listening to their bodies (or their wives).

J, funny about the "hello baby" cueing the Java's feeding demands, lol. Ugh, I just saw the London news too...more craziness. Sorry for the families of those lost.

Glad hubby's surgery went well!!

You owe me one computer keyboard....the screen I can clean myself but I'll never get the tea spit out of the nooks and crannies of the keyboard!! :lau No kidding, Debby. J, better watch out....it won't be long and they'll be asking for the car keys! I always thought that they matured kinda slow, but yours are really growing fast! I tell the kids that worrying is my job, one of the few things I'm really good at, and it's cruel to take a gift like that away from an old lady. I just got a mental picture of this.....it's probably amusing to look at but would be hilarious if you tried to dance! :lau Teila,by the looks of that map it's probably pointless now to hope it goes away. So right now I'm going to focus my prayers that the damage is minimal and easily handled and that hubby, FIL and puppy all come out safe! The cardiologist surprised us. The issue with Ken's EKG was that there was one place on his heart where the electrical signal wasn't where it should be - it does a loop around one spot on his heart and has made its own pathway. That's as close as I can get to the explanation without a ton of diagrams and fancy words. They think he had a mild, silent heart attack at some point (maybe mistaking it for indigestion or upper back pain) and that little bit of muscle tissue is now dead or very damaged. He's still a go for the surgery on Wednesday. Ken was a little befuddled (what else is new?) about how he could have a heart attack and not even know it, but Dr. Big Words said that it's not at all uncommon. He also said that it could well have happened after Ken's initial shoulder injury and Ken could have mistaken the discomfort for pain radiating from that. It was a stark reminder that not all heart attacks begin with crushing chest pain. We should have remembered that. Mine was just this slowly increasing pain in my back about half way between my shoulders and my waist - or where my waist used to be - and at first I thought I'd pulled something lifting Kendra. Hope hubby's surgery goes well Blooie!!

I don't dare miss a day on here...brain can't keep up

My son enjoyed Wyoming Debby and Blooie even though it was a quick trip...they got back about 10:00 last night. Equipment is huge!! He's the one in the brown pants in the first picture. Second picture he's 3rd in from the right. He sent the menu from some restaurant they ate at...pretty sure he didn't choose any of that. Cats had to smell and chew the coal he brought home.

Hello again … good news in that Forrest Beach has been downgraded from a Warning Zone to a Watch Zone and the current predicted Track Map for TC Debbie shows her crossing ever so slightly south of the previous map so that bit further away from Hubby and FIL. However, not good for those who will be in the path and fingers crossed for them that damage is minimal.

Progress pics of the coop from today .. shade cloth which goes under the Suntuf Solarsmart Polycarbonate Roofing which has 99.9% UV Protection, absorbs heat from the sun and is hail resistant and cyclone rated and not being fitted until after Debbie has departed

So glad your loved ones are safe (and your new coop which is looking fabulous)! Hopefully it won't cause too much damage wherever it ends up drifting.

Good morning!

DMC, thanks for sharing the pictures. Wow, that is some really BIG equipment! I'm glad your son enjoyed himself. He should have tried the buffalo...that's some good stuff!

Teila, thanks for the latest update on the storm. I'm glad your family is out of the direct path and hope it doesn't create too much havoc for anyone else. Your coop is shaping up nicely!

I can’t remember the last time I was on the computer this late in the evening [coming up to 08:30pm] .. usually I am watching television with hubby.

However, he is not here

and I needed to catch up on my BYC greetings, so here I am!

Now that is done, I have to go and bath George and then I have a hot date.

Are you thinking what the?

George cooked my steak for me .. George Foreman Grill .. and now he needs to be washed.

The hot date is me, my recliner, my coffee and Stephen Amell in an episode of the Green Arrow I recorded last night

That's some seriously Heavy Equipment, reminds me of Star Wars.

A great example of why no one needs to buy cat toys

The tropical low is now officially Tropical Cyclone Debbie!

Latest predicted track map:

Hope you all will be safe and folks in the direct path do evacuate.
