Well, my braided Easter egg bread is no more![]()
I had left it on the kitchen table because it looked so cute. Went to the grocery store. Came back to find bites taken out all over it. At least the candy was untouched.
The only mystery is which of my 3 cats did it. If one of them mysteriously shows up with an upset stomach, I'm going to have a pretty good idea which one it was.
Thank goodness I took the pictures yesterday!
I know, I knowIt's my own fault.
I've been working on keeping them (ok, Opie!) off the table and thought I was making progress with him. Didn't even think of the bread before I left.
Oh well, it was good...the 2 pieces we had this morning, lol.
Aw, the little turds!![]()
But it's a testament to your good cooking skills.![]()
Have you been led to believe that cats can be trained? I believe they train you instead, and look down upon you with disdain.
You aren't willing to eat a cat licked bread? I wonder if I would if my dogs took a bite? Hmmmm, how good was it?
Just cut the top off where it was eaten from. The inside is still good.![]()
But then, that's just me. Most people will be like,![]()

I would totally root Katie on, how stinkin cute that bunny is.Today was one of those rewarding, busy busy days. We had the banquet at Powell Lodge, the annual "Ladies at the Table" lodge, which honors the ladies who are part of the Masonic family. That banquet started at 2:30. Had a very nice time and then left there to attend yet another banquet at 5:30 as the guests of David and Susan Peck. That was the Lovell Chamber of Commerce awards banquet. The featured guest was US Navy Captain Kevin Parker, Commanding Officer of the USS Murtha. In of those bizarre twists that life hands us sometimes, it turns out that Captain Parker, who has served in the United States Navy for 30+ years, was one of Ken's students when Ken was the Director of the Navy's IC/EM schools. What a hoot! And what are the odds?? Banquet food is, well, banquet food. And when the same caterer is doing both events, there's not a lot of variety. The Lodge banquet was roast beef (dry as bone and all rolled up like a Jimmy Dean sausage) potatoes, a mixed salad with soggy croutons that tasted exactly like Stove Top Stuffing lumps, some kind of "roasted veggie medley" that was actually more like browned steamed peppery green peppers with a bit of cauliflower and zucchini hidden in there, rolls that looked and tasted just like hamburger buns, and cheesecake. At the Chamber banquet we had the same veggies, same rolls, same potatoes, same salad (I warned everyone at our table about the croutons before they found out the hard way like I did and literally gagged at the table) and the same cheesecake.....however, she also had gravy - really good gravy which the first banquet sure could have used - and roasted chicken and potato salad. Those were really good. But I had to eat two meals in two different towns at two different events to get one full meal. Tomorrow we get back to finishing up Tam's move to the new house and then I'll stay and help her unpack and put away her kitchen stuff while Ken and Kenny move the big furniture to the spots she's chosen for them. Monday Ken has a followup with the cardiologist one more time to double check everything, Tuesday we go to Billings and Wednesday is the surgery. Kendra will have to go with us to the cardio, but we'll leave for Billings Tuesday after Jenny comes to pick her up and she got the day off for surgery day. Thursday we go back to our regular routine, with the addition of Ken writhing in pain on the recliner. Life is good. Right? Debby, your bread is gorgeous! And look at the feathers on those finches! Where the heck did THOSE come from so fast? I thought my chicks feathered fast with Mama Heating Pad! Please, OHLD...if you care at all for me don't post a lot of bunny pictures! Katie looks at BYC with deep interest, and it'll be just like when she started seeing the pictures of Silkies - I'll do my best to talk her out of it and she'll "out-cute" me....again. Okay, gotta wash the youth off my face, check in with some other pages, and then get my hiney to bed! Nite all!
Beautiful as well as delicious obviously!! I had breakfast sausage sitting on the table yesterday for Quinton to eat before he went to work...he got 3 of the 5. Spuds was the culprit, the bugger. I never told Quinton...what he don't know wont hurt him![]()
