Officially pooping my pants!

OMG! We are in what would have been the eye if she was still a Severe Tropical Cyclone. Now we just have to hang on for the winds on the other side! So far so good .. I can see what looks like part of my front tree in the road and a couple of large pot plants have been blown over but the roof is still on the coop!

Edited to Add: I was expecting winds etc on the other side of the eye but just like that, it is over! We are no longer in the eye so that is not the reason it is calm now, it has literally just gone! Thank goodness! AND, the roof is still on the coop and the girls are fine!

Hope it's really gone and doesn't circle back

.

Those pics of the floods are horrific - it reminds me of a major flood here in 1994 and it flooded our water treatment plant - there was no water supply for the Macon area for about 6 weeks or more.

There's still worries there about trees - they can just uproot and fall with the floods, so stay in and stay safe.

Telia, hope the rains run off and your home and flock stay safe :hugs .

Blooie, hope the doc sent home some good pain killers for when the nerve block wears off.   In the "good old days" he'd be in the hospital on a narcotic pump tonite.

Debby, thanks for the offer...hmmmm warm climate vs WY winters... nope, will have to stay in GA  .

DMC, 3 cleaning jobs and still going to walk :th .  You are giving me inspiration, I may start exercising...or maybe start next month :D .

J, hope the Java's are all weaned very soon :)

Third job cancelled so got my 2 mile done in town

You are still firmly in our prayers! I wish there was more we could do....maybe when this is all over we need to send you a "CARE" package....Chicken Amigos Rescue Emergency kit....Sour, can you pack up some green potato salad on short notice or does it take a few days to age? [COLOR=1D2129]
Okay, it's really not nice to laugh at someone who has issues, but....but.... well, got him comfy for the night! He should sleep like a baby! :lau He is NOT a happy man!

Good morning!

Blooie, poor Ken looks just miserable. Hope you were both able to get some sleep last night. Keep those pain pills handy (for either of you, lol).

DMC, 4 cleaning jobs in one day? Shoot, I can barely manage just my own.

Teila, I feel soaked just looking at your pictures...wow, that's a lot of flood damage. Glad to hear the girl's and their coop are ok! I hope you have a less eventful day today.

Teila, what a mess! I don't know anything about your soil conditions in that area...how long would it typically take for that much water to start to dry out? Once the rain stops (and it will, I promise) is the drainage there such that what hasn't run off will soak deep down in, or will it just sorta stay on the surface waiting for wind and sun to evaporate?

I have got to get my entry for the edible Easter thingy done. Who am I kidding? I have to get it started. Thunk of.....

Ken slept pretty well despite looking like the creature from the black lagoon. But he was up and hurting pretty good by 4 am. I heard him stirring around so I came out to see if he needed anything. Nah, he said he was sore but he'd taken half a pain pill and it would kick in pretty soon. HALF? Oh, yeah, like that's gonna do anything. So I stashed the little pill splitter, which he apparently had no trouble using one-handed, and practically force fed him the other half. I knew the conflict of the pain vs the pain killers was going to be an issue, and some pills you simply aren't supposed to crush or cut before taking. Grrrrrr Looks like I have 2 disabled 5 year olds to take care of this week.

Blooie, I feel your pain re: disabled spouse. You got that right...it's like taking care of a 5 year old.

So you have an idea for the Edible Easter contest? Come on gal, let's get 'er done!
