J, close your eyes if you don't want to know........

91 birds

If I did my math correctly, you have 91! Holy cow

Now you have me singing 91 bottles of beer on the wall

Oh, yeah. There is that. But at least you know they each have a pulse! As an added bonus, they can probably count to 21 if they don't have their jail suits on...... <sigh> Am I gonna get in trouble for that now?

Howdy folks

07:30PMish here and I am going to spend the evening catching up with you guys and also new member greetings.

Thankfully, no more trips into the office for a long while and hopefully no more severe weather events; meaning I can settle back into what has become somewhat of a routine over the past few weeks. Can you believe it has been nearly 4 weeks since hubby left?

Anyways, apologies in advance for the long and picture heavy post but lots of stuff to catch up on and share.

Once again, thank you all so very much for all your support during what has been a full on week or so for me. I only hope that I can at the very least repay you in kind.

N F C Yikes at your hiring issues .. not doing paperwork, not knowing what day it is and being ‘on the run’ are not qualities we would usually look for in a future employee

I hope things improve on that front!

J I was going to say the pictures were adorable but that would be an understatement!

The shark on the road was amazing! Up North, with flooding, there is the risk of crocodiles swimming down flooded roads also.

sunflour I hope you are feeling better very soon. Your Edible Easter entry is awesome, I love it!!

I wish I could ignore the debris but sadly it is not in my nature and the second thing I did after letting the girls out and apologising for one day and night of h*ll and two locked in the run, was to start trying to clean up before it got dark.

I did a ‘fun’ OCD test on Facebook the other week and the results came back as
"OCD, OCD, OCD!
You have a killer eye for spotting the tiniest, most invisible inaccuracies, errors and mistakes. And it's very important to you to correct them :)
This special combination is what makes you a perfectionist in everything you do. It's great that you want things to go the right way and always ready to fight for it, but you also need to give yourself a break sometimes. It's hard (and not always necessary) to be 100% perfect all the time
."

Tell me something I don’t know!

Thank you for all the chuckles in between .. ‘no show’ dates, prison etc

In my news .. the girls were fine when they woke up this morning and I even got back from the office early enough to give them chance to have a dig around in the nice soft, water logged dirt and grass which is now my garden. They were reluctant to go to bed and I can only think that that had something to do with the fact that it would have been a pretty scary night for them in the coop .. Anyways, they are all tucked up asleep now and it is wonderfully calm. I am not embarrassed to admit that I was freaking out!

So, I tossed up whether to start with the good pictures or the ‘bad’ ones and decided to go with bad so I could end on a happier note.

This is next door's palm tree which fell during the worse of the storm. That is approximately 1/3 of the tree in the picture:

This is where it fell and that is my power box .. I was a cat's whisker from being without power until probably next week:

I did not pile up this debris, the wind did it for me:

My usually pristine driveway and verge and one of the reasons I am going to have a busy weekend:

We have no palms on this side of the house or anywhere around the coop so this was blown here and you can see all the debris over the lawn:

The neighbour's outdoor setting was trying to get through the fence:

And, probably the saddest for me, some of my large potted plants on their side. The fern at the back is in a huge pot and that pot was tied to the black stake; the wind broke the tie and toppled the pot. With the front plant, the pot remained upright but the plant which is about 3ft tall, was flattened [I have supported it but not sure if it will make it] and the 'stick' in the background had 7 or 8 large 'elephant-ear' leaves and now has one small one

Now for the good pictures!

The Forrest Beach coop is progressing:

That is a huge run for 5 x spoiled bantams

Teila, too bad you have all that clean up in addition to the moving work. I'd offer to come help you but I'm trying to hire sketchy employees. Close call on the power box.

Your new coop/run are shaping up nicely!
