The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Aaand in our "You Thought Your Job was Stressful" segment this morning, how about this job? This video is courtesy of MtDot (Montana Department of Transportation) as they plow the scenic Beartooth Highway. To give you an idea of where this is, the summer camp that Katie attends every year is at the base of this highway, so in Wyoming/Montana miles it's not that far from us. If you listen, you can hear the commentator say that the plow is still 25 feet ABOVE the actual roadway, as he digs through driving on TOP of the drift. Oh, and see the rest of the highway angling below him? Yeah. You couldn't pay me enough...

Good morning folks

Thank you! I priced the coop and run for a quick sale, taking into consideration that they are going to have to dismantle it to move it etc. Who wouldn’t snap up this little beauty for $150?? A small prefab or just the materials would cost you more. Definitely a bargain but I am happy that someone else is going to get use of it. It was not about the money for me, that is a small bonus, having to dismantle it and put it in a skip bin would have been pretty sad.

Blooie I am with you .. not a chance I would be signing up for that job! Just watching the video is enough for me to start thinking about putting in for compensation lol

So, I penned FIL a quick e.mail to say I was thinking of him and hope that he is pain-free soon and his GP is able to help tomorrow. In the e.mail I included some of the upcoming dates and my progress update. Anyways, I also thought I would count the actual days for the first time and not counting today and the day I arrive, 44 days to go .. WOW, now that does sound doable!!

Good morning!

Opie woke me up extra early this morning so I'm trying to catch up with all of you

Sunflour, so glad you have your new babies! I'm sure you'll have many hours of entertainment with them. As for my new 6, I'm 99% sure one is a boy (one of the 2 Welsummers)...the little comb is getting bigger by the hour and the posture is different. Looks like I may be down to 5 instead of the half dozen. They're all doing well and have discovered sitting on top of the waterer and feeder is fun.

Teila, congrats on getting your old coop sold and dismantled. One more item checked off the list! Your new coop is really shaping up well.

J, how are your new babies coming along?

Due to bad weather (snow) the past 3 days the only customers at the golf course have been diners but enough of them to keep us busy. Today we have to get a big take-out order ready for a group of 25. Thursday there's another lunch meeting for 26 coming in. Lots of work to do but I'm sure glad people are enjoying the food enough to drive out to us.

Hope you all have a terrific day and btw...

Sorry about the probable roo.

I knew your cooking would bring folks in no matter the weather.

Telia - the coop is really looking good.

Great news!  FIL is OK and it looks like it could just be muscle issues.  His high blood pressure has the ER peeps getting him to see his Doc on Tuesday [long weekend .. yep, another one!] and hubby is keeping a very close eye on him.  Like most of us, FIL was very happy that they let him go home :D

I'm glad your FIL is ok. That BP doesn't sound good. I know pain can make it go higher.

Happy May Day! I think I bought my flowers a little prematurely!

I lost one of my pretty chickens on Friday. She just disappeared... I'd feel better if i knew what happened to her. No sign of feathers or distress among the other girls. I'm hoping she didn't crawl under the semi as Hubby was hauling beans that day. There's a couple chickens that crawl up into where the tractor connects to the trailer and lay their eggs. I guess I'm fortunate I've never lost a bird other then one we lost to a prolapse. The one that went missing is the chicken with the white head. She's an EE that laid a light pink egg.

Linda taken by ambulance to ER this morning. Russ couldn't wake her up. Lori on her way up there and she'll let me know right away. Meantime I'm going to go pack and told Jenny to come up with a Plan B for the girls because if we go back to South Dakota there won't be much notice. Please pray..... most of you know what Linda means to me - to all our family.
