The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

N F C wow, those are some big hours! As I type, you are probably sleeping and well deserved!

I am cat sitting for my neighbour at the moment, basically because I do not have enough responsibilities to keep me busy

Good morning!

Busy day ahead. We have a meeting luncheon for 27 tomorrow so lots to get ready ahead of time.

Teila, cute cat! I'm sure she's lots of company for you right now.

Sunflour, how is Buddy doing these days?

Hope you all have a great day!

Have a great day Debby! Good morning all!

She opened her eyes and responded to a couple of very simple commands this morning!!! They said her brain was without oxygen and didn't emit carbon dioxide (and I have no idea if I phrased that correctly) which basically shuts the brain down. The final MRI report was more in depth than the preliminary report and it said that she had a few older mini-strokes, but they don't know yet what caused this episode.

They still have her on a respirator and feeding tube, and they are setting up a 24 hour EEG right after she comes back from dialysis. They did caution us that they don't know how much brain function she'll get back or when that will start happening. I wish I'd been there for this morning, but we are leaving here on Wednesday to go back. I need to physically SEE her with my own eyes, you know?

Ken tried to get his post-op appointment changed and I called to get my stress test/cardiologist visit changed as well. In both cases the next available time for appointments was quite a time away. Mine is no big deal, I went ahead and rescheduled for mid-June, because it's just my annual, but Ken has to be checked before they can go on to the next phase of PT.

Thanks for the prayers and support! The power of prayer is immense!

I'm so grateful you will have a chance to go. Have a safe trip!
