They were probably too slippery to get a grip :D
Actually, they were not bad for their first bath. I hung on to them without a problem. Used to be a professional groomer once.
Eta, but don't ask me to hang onto a pig! I will have to tell you about our pig round up and rodeo some time. Hilarious! Wish i had a video.

Look at this cute pudding with its eyes open today:

It is so well fed and chubby!

We had a 2 hour power cut during the night and I suspect that's done for a couple of the Button eggs but there's still one hopeful we are waiting on. I had an unexpected egg hatch. It's one that was in the aviary and it must've been further along than I thought because it hatched with this batch (in a separate container). It's a dark little wild type - it looks so funny in there with all the light coloured babies.

I can't begin to imagine how tiny they must be. My 2 boy king quail (are they the same as button quail, I did look it up, but now I've forgotten) are still little and they are fully grown. The babies must be miniscule. I'm bad enough with the chicken babies the couple of times I've let the girls hatch eggs, I'd be a nervous wreck with teeny tiny babies.

Yes, King quail get called Button quail around BYC. In New Zealand we call them Chinese Painted quail. The babies are quite skittery but will come and hide under our hands if we move slowly and if I tap the water surface or food they all come over to investigate.

DMC those kitties are so pretty. Hopefully you'll earn their trust.

CapricornFarm - your cats are gorgeous too. (Sorry, the '@' linky thingee isn't working for me).
