The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

You need to be careful with every breed, do some homework and assess the parents and get all the checks you can. It's bad enough having health issues with any pet, it's really bad when you've just got a dog with "problems" from the get-go. Very upsetting.

Yeah, I imagine it's sad. Especially cause they're so cute :(

But yeah, I'd definitely research and do testing on any breed, just the random rage thing kind of scares me. You don't know what dog is gonna have it. And like at least with hips or another health issue you can maybe try to treat it but you can't do that with a neurological thing

after bad experiences with purebreds my sister and older niece both got mutts from a shelter. They figured they would be healthier - HA!!. Both dogs had alot of problems and they have paid plenty plus both have unsound temperaments.

Morning Sour, DMC and everyone!

I just looked at the calendar and it says it's the first day of fall.

That stinks. :(

I hate when people always say mutts are healthier! Not always. Depends on the parents and if they're unhealthy the dog will be too! Mutt or not.

I would have to look up to see what the actual temperature is though.
If you go the the Month "tab" on Accuweather, it will show the actual and average. Goes back a year and will show the averages for the next year.

I do my dog's haircuts which is why she looks like she's been pulled through a hedge backwards :D She fidgets, so I do it in stages. Unfortunately, sometimes the stages don't leave her looking uniform. She'll be half done until I do the rest.
That is what my 2 alpaca geldings looked like this year. They were given to us last October, hadn't been sheared because whoever the guy is who "normally" does it wasn't responding in the Spring and by the time he did it was too late in the year. So I gave it a shot myself this spring. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? At least they were cooler this summer.

The more you use clippers the better you get at it. It would be interesting to know how many dogs i have groomed over the years.

Thanks, I'll try that. I tried to find the historical climate data or whatever and some of it you have to pay for so I knew that couldn't be it!
