Yay, they're out of the coop and into the run now.

Here's something I don't understand...why is it easy to find waterers that are covered but not feeders? The covered feeder I had in FL was given away with that flock and now I have to mail order another. No one in town has a covered feeder :barnie

I guess people use open ones that are easy to pour more feed in. Or buy what they can find. Why not make your own top?

I made one from a home depot bucket that is fairly water tight. I used two of the last winter and they only got water in them a couple of times

Mine is a round bucket but the cut bottom helps keep the rain out.
 
I really liked the covered feeder I had in FL. Just ordered another one through Premier 1 for quite a bit less expensive than any other place that has them online. It's the Blenheim 13-gallon one, this time I also ordered the rain hat. Should be here in a few days.
