We went to "Christmas Made in the South" - got a couple of hand painted "chicken" gourds and some awesome handmade glass earrings .

And on the way home ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant - food was good but I'm too full to do anything else today

Wallpaper hanging i used to do alone. Now i don't do it at all.

My mom and I drove around today. It was pretty, lots of horse farms/countryish area. I guess not really all farms per se, some have them in their backyards haha

We also went to lunch. Was delicious.

And we went to the new Marshall's.

Saw an old family friend and also got a new dog toy and lots of treats lol

The giant bag was $6! Would have been like $12-$15 or more at the pet stores. The small ones only $4. Would have been like $6-$8 or $10 elsewhere lol they had chicken, bacon, and peanut butter. I figured he'd like peanut butter and bacon best

I am going to TRY to save the toy for Christmas haha

It was good I found the treats too because we are out of training treats and only have cookies left. We ran out recently which didn't matter since I haven't been training much lately but now I've been training more. Mostly nosework/scent stuff right now but also going to be working on strengthening his back end/hind legs and of course reinforcing obedience. He's pretty advanced but it can never hurt to practice more. He also doesn't always come when called haha

I'm hoping the cookies help with that though. He's going to get one every time he comes in. But also, I'm going to just call him and make him come to me randomly outside and then let him go and stay out. Because right now I think he thinks that when I call him, especially after he's been barking, that that means he is going to be brought in. And it usually does mean that lol so he ignores me cause he doesn't wanna come in . But he needs to come every time and on the first time preferably. He DOES listen if I step towards his rope (he knows I will reel him in lol don't even have to pick it up anymore), like I did today, but I want to just change his overall mentality rather than force him. Some might not agree with that but I just want him to learn that you won't necessarily be brought in when you're called but you do need to listen. Maybe I'll even bring him in if he doesn't listen the first time. Idk.

But yeah.

ANYWAY.

Good Morning Friends

I went AWOL for a day .. hubby decided yesterday morning that we would head in to town early to get the shopping done so no time to log in and once home, gardening, gardening and more gardening.

Flattened the recently cleared out area as much as I could, cleared out the remaining undergrowth around the palms and tossed around and watered in some grass seeds. Purchased ‘Pinky’ a new pot and transplanted her into her new home. Killed some weeds and more green ants. Mulched the citrus and avocado trees. The ‘heavy lifting’ component of the garden is now done and it is now just more weed clearing in smaller beds, mulching, maintenance etc … really starting to get there now and so pleased with the progress. We even made a start on the ponds/water feature. I just ordered a second compost bin and on Friday, managed to find someone in town who just started a worm farm and got some worms for the now full original compost bin.

N F C Gai [my hopefully new friend] has not met the girls yet .. I am nowhere near a stage where I would invite people to visit. The garden is not so bad now but the house still needs a lot of work and even though it is not my mess or my fault, I would not feel happy having people over just yet.

Plans for today are to finish the housework, hang out the washing, head into town for the weekly shop then home for lunch, a visit to Gai and Omu and then lots of watering in the garden.

Have fun friends .. I will catch up with you tomorrow when I am back at work and have more time in front of the computer

I napped several hours and just got up. I plan a shower but, the hardest part is getting dry. Lands End so absorbent towels, are not. Maybe I'd be better with towel paper.

@Teila I was tired before I read about your day...now I'm exhausted, lol! I hope you'll share some new photos of your yard when you're ready to share some more...it's going to be beautiful when you're finished.

DH set up my desk set, a new file cabinet and a new chair (I leave the room for this stuff, he says I'm "too" much help). Had to go to town which always takes forever because my husband turns into Mr. Social Butterfly and talks to everyone (whether he knows them or not). Finally got my computer set up and a desk lamp. Now 1/2 my stuff is downstairs and 1/2 up here...good thing there's a tomorrow!

@sunflour your day sounds like fun! I want to see a photo of those chicken things you picked up. Glad you enjoyed your lunch and day
