Type 2 is very controllable with diet and that’s what they have. Nephew is doing it by diet, sister is on insulin. It does seem more rampant these days. I feel bad for anyone that has it, especially the kids.

I sometimes feel bitter towards type 2 diabetics as often they can be rid of it if they exercise and eat right. I know I shouldn't feel that way, but it's not an option for type one, and I don't understand why anyone would choose shots over exercise.Type 2 is very controllable with diet and that’s what they have. Because they like what they have been eating all along and exercise takes effort.I sometimes feel bitter towards type 2 diabetics as often they can be rid of it if they exercise and eat right. It can get worse until you can't control it by diet. I controlled it like that through my pregnancy and for many years after. I had to start meds a few years ago. Now it's changed again. If I don't eat, my sugars are perfect. As soon as I put something in my mouth they're over. So my dosage has just been upped. Diabetes runs in my family.Type 2 is very controllable with diet and that’s what they have. Nephew is doing it by diet, sister is on insulin.
Diabetes never remains the same does it? That's part of the challenge with keeping things where they should be. It's not as simple as doctors make it out to be. I guess I lumped all type 2 into one group, and everyone is an individual. It can get worse until you can't control it by diet. I controlled it like that through my pregnancy and for many years after. My husband's uncle is the same way. He's had it now for a number of years...he's super stealth now. He still has to take medication to control it. From what I'm to understand his medication has been increased as well. He's about 20 years my senior.
Totally get what your saying. My sister has severe depression also and is on meds for that. She does watch what she eats but still does insulin. She has a hard time losing weight due to her meds. I feel bad for her cuz she really can’t win. It’s a sucky disease. My mom had a kidney transplant which they called a christmas miracle as she was not on a waiting list very long. She had some weird antibody or something that would take her longer to get a kidney, she waited 7 months if I remember right. It worked well for around 4 years and then it was attacked by a virus of sorts and it quit working. Dialysis was tough on her and she ended up quitting it. I think it depends on a lot of factors but I agree...it certainly is a challenge. In my case heredity doesn't help. It was eye opening to go to Dh's Celiac meetings in the 90s and see families have both Celiac and diabetes run down family lines.Diabetes never remains the same does it? So sorry about your mom. That was a rough life on her. I understand why she would give up on dialysis. I hope and pray every day my kidneys remain healthy, so far I'm lucky, but I fear kidney failure and blindness.Totally get what your saying.
