The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I have a tree in one run. I used welded wire on top of my runs which are chain link and nailed the wire where i cut it to the tree. Seems to work well.
I never like to recommend netting but it should be ok if someone is around i guess. Hawks can be very persistent. I had 2 instances of hawks breaking windows to get at chickens! After that i cover them with hardware cloth!

My coop/run is an all in one, roofed, fort Knox. Not even a carpenter bee can get in there :) I have a very small area not really protected we let ours out for a few supervised areas...just want to enlarge that.

I knew they would work at netting but would have bet against them breaking a window (unless they died in the effort).
Nope, they broke plexiglass in one window and glass in the second. Luckily i had put wire inside that i window. The first broken window cost me a rooster, the second one just a replacement window. Lesson learned!

My cat loves me and she's a girl. Although she loves my dad too. But she loves us most, though no one else really likes her.

Our last cat loved everyone and wanted to be petted and loved for hours. I think orange males are just like that though.

Luna also meows at me a lot lately and I never know what she wants. I say either a can of wet food or attention lol

She also now runs up to greet me when I come home and she seems pretty excited. I think she learned that from the dog LOL she's done that for a bit but still always cute.

Our dog loves me but loves my brother best

And wow you guys must have some determined or desperate/starving hawks! Are they starving? And I know it was probably long while ago now and you were probably focuses on protecting your babies but I'd be concerned and maybe report it to one of the hawk/wildlife agencies, seems rare and weird.

And Goldens usually are smart but it does depend on the dog. My parents had one dumb as rocks lol stubborn too. But most are friendly and do well in obedience and tricks and stuff, or at least from what I've heard.

Now I would be interested in comparing the lab and the golden.

Morning Deb:frow

How are you doing this morning Bob? Do you have a lot of stuff to do today for Thanksgiving?

Which of course reminds me of this:
