The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I just went out and covered my remaining veggies again. Sigh. I need a greenhouse. I did hint to Santa, but i am thinking 8x16 like the hoop coop.
How wide are your rows? My raised beds are 4' and fit 1/2 pvc perfectly. Problem with pvc is its a one winter wonder. Next year i'll bend 1/2" emt for the low tunnels. I have benders... Including one for a 20' wide greenhouse.

Eggs... I don't want to talk about eggs.:he:oops::he

Don't feel bad, i don't expect any eggs until February or so. :hugs

My,my @CapricornFarm you mean to tell me ya have all those birds and there ain't none of them laying?
Shoot, ya need some Khakis too....:)
They just hatched in August. Ducks make too much slipper poo. And if they made it to the river i would never see them again because the current would carry them away.

Well my beds are about 4 feet with about 2 feet between them or less in places. Trying to get a lot of plants in a small space. I will make some cold frames, but i really want a big green house. That may be next after i finish the hay loft and goat pens...

Depending on your situation... If your soil is agreeable, you can shove 1/2" pvc in on one side and bend it over to the other and repeat. If your soil isn't agreeable, then you can cut 1' pieces of 3/4" pvc and drive it into the ground then push the 1/2" into the 3/4", secure it with a tek screw and bend it over. Just to get your wheels turning, I'll give you a couple links.

Has anyone ever mentioned that we've been accused of being enablers? I think that's totally false:gig:gig:gig:gig

Something that I add to the PVC rib is either a T coupling or a 4way coupling....this allows for a support pc of pvc between the ribs and gives it strength against winter winds. If ya put the larger pcs of PVC in the ground, be sure to leave about 1/2"-1" above ground level and when ya are finished with it remove the ribs and support pcs and place caps on the pcs in the ground....that way they will be ready for next winter and ya will just have to put the pcs back together....easy up and easy down. I usually get a roll of 6mil clear plastic sheeting from Lowe's and just cut it to length and pull it over and weigh it down with some wood branches or bricks....just cut it long enough to close completly on both ends. If ya use duct tape...it won't stick if plastic is too cold. The sheeting unfolds to either 10-12' in width.....:)
