The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning all :frow

We're looking at some really wintery weather the next several days...temps in the single digits, snow and overnight lows in the minus. Yesterday I got a card from a friend in Key West and she was saying how hot it had been there :hit

That double habitat you posted looks really good @KDOGG331. I like the "multi environment" aspect. "forest" to "desert" ;) and if they do use only the desert for a toilet, easy to clean.

Maybe you can find some hollow pieces of wood that aren't too big. Or drill a good size hole through a ~2-3" diameter branch and the gerbils could finish the work. Or, going with the glass jar thing, a LONG time ago they used to sell a glass cutter thing to cut the tops of jars to make vases or something (I don't recall exactly). If you could find something like that you could cut the bottom off tall glass jars to make some permanent tunnels. Make sure to smooth the cut edge with emery paper.

That's what I thought too! They clearly really love their animals! Hopefully one day I can make the same or a similar environment. :)

And thanks for the info on the hides and stuff! I like that branch idea!

I'VE BEEN CHEATED!!!! Went to get a replacement can of Dr. Pepper for the one in the fridge (which I will drink with lunch) from the 12 pack. Next can in line is EMPTY. Sealed with nothing inside. No leaks, no drips, nothing sticky in the carton. That just ain't right!! Boy would THAT be harsh for @Teila's DH given how hard it is to come by Down Under.

I've had that happen a couple times too Bruce (not with DP but with Coke). Guess someone in quality control fell asleep at the wheel and missed them.

Sorry!

Pretty bad when you have to weigh the box before you buy it! But i gave up soda. Never lost an ounce!
Lost weight by giving up soda?
If you maintained weight as you got older, it is a good thing! Giving up soda likely helped with that
