I had a wart on my thumb right at the upper knuckle. Used Compound-W on it when it got to about 1/4" high. Peeled off the dead scab about every 3 days. Sometimes it would bleed a bit. Reapply. Did that for at least 4 weeks, got it down to the point the C-W was also getting on my skin and that was ripping and bleeding. Stopped when the wart was flat. Came right back soon as I stopped. Small scars around it on the live skin from where the C-W got on it and was peeled off.
Doctor suggested duct tape (*) but I couldn't get it to stay on, bad place even with a bandaid to try and hold it.
Enter castor oil (**). If the wart were somewhere I could keep a bandaid on I would have put the castor oil on the pad, but it wasn't. So I dabbed a bit on a few times a day with a Q-tip. It doesn't stink, sting or dry out. Took a month or more but the wart is GONE and has been for 2 years now. No dried C-W gunk, no peeling dried gunk off every few days, no pain when peeling dried gunk off, no ripped skin when peeling dried gunk off, no bleeding when peeling dried gunk off, etc, etc, etc. The only evidence the wart was there is the small scarring from peeling dried C-W off live skin.
* Yeah, the stuff that is good for a lot of things, just not for sealing ducts joints.
** which I had to have the grocery store order because they don't normally carry it any more.
