I think so too, Debby! How do you like that paint job in her bedroom? It's worse and more garish in person! Yes, it IS that purple - grapey purple. Two walls are white, one is purple, one is painted entirely with chalkboard black but where it turns the corner by the door is purple, and any trim is painted the opposite color that wall happens to be. Ugliest paint I've ever seen, but paint is way far down on the to-do list at this point. We'll leave the chalkboard wall though. She and Katie like to sit on her bed and draw pictures or write on it together. At least that's the plan until Kendra figures ALL walls are canvases. At that point Mom and Dad can decide....

Kendra's bedroom paint reminded me of when my mother told my niece she could paint the downstairs bathroom any color she wanted. Mom doesn't do stairs any more and was shocked to find out the niece painted the bathroom the same color you have in your picture. Just imagine that dark purpley color covering all walls and ceiling of a tiny dark bathroom.

Took DH 3 coats of paint to re-do it in a lighter color. And he was a very eloquent speaker while doing it too :rant

What we know so far is that DJ was her ex-husband. He was NOT a nice man, and they were divorced a little over a year ago. Carol's body was discovered when family requested a welfare check. Anyway, there's nothing we can do about it except support the family and pray for Carol and everyone touched by this senseless crime. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

On to other things. I wonder if I could get one of them little launcher things and then load it with balled-up Masonic emails......should keep Ken occupied for hours.

Actually hoping to talk him into a trip to Billings today. They got over 15 inches of snow up there a few days ago, so he might be a little hesitant, but he could drive his beloved Tundra. His Christmas gift arrived a couple of days ago. He's called his truck "Shrek" from day one because it's big, green, kinda ugly, but it's soft and super nice on the inside. Last Christmas, Evan got him a key chain that has a little medallion with the words "Grandpa's Shrek" on it. To complete the theme, this year I ordered him personalized license plates that say "Shrek". We had to take his old plates off and take them down to the courthouse in Basin to pick up the new ones, but I did manage to put the receipt and the order confirmation in a big box under the tree so he got the initial surprise, even if he had to complete the gift. He's tickled!

Jenny sent me this photo of Kendra in her new room yesterday. Suddenly all the work we did seems like nothing at all!!

And speaking of Kendra, her vocabulary is picking up. That is one smart little girl in there, but she's still mostly just using nouns, very little conversation. A couple of weeks ago she was here and had her little drawing tablet. She made this, then looked up at me and just as clear as can be she said, "trapazoid." Yep. Just like that! (I had to look it up.)

Love that picture of Kendra and her bright walls and that old wood floor!

I bet Kendra loves it!! It’s the same color as my shirt I am wearing:lol:

She's worth it!

Classic. At least you know that no one else would be in danger were he not in custody.

And ... do nothing ;)

Good morning Friends :hugs

OMG Blooie that is just so sad and senseless :( My condolences.

I :love the picture of Kendra in her room!

I took some time out yesterday to go and have a coffee with Gai and visit Omu [the Peach Face I found and gave to Gai who is a wildlife carer]. Omu put on a lovely performance for me, playing with his toys and bouncing around his enormous cage. I chatted to the two Lorikeets and wallaby that she also has in residence. I aspire to have my garden as tropical as Gai does; I love it! Once the ponds are finished, Gai is going to give me some of her 1,000’s of guppies she has from one of her large ponds! The few I will take will definitely not make a dent in her current population. She is also going to give me some pond grass.

We got some rain yesterday and more overnight so watering of anything not under the house is not required today which reduces the chore list significantly.

89.5F predicted for today with a 60% chance of more rain. I have noticed that plants and grasses I potted 6 months ago and which basically grew at a meandering rate have literally flourished and stepped up their growth spurt in the last couple of weeks. While I whinge about the tropical weather, the plants sure do thrive in it!

Plans for today are those of a typical Sunday .. finish housework, load of washing, grocery shopping and then watering plants under the house and pottering.

@Teila sounds like you've found a good friend in Gai. How nice she'll set you up with some guppies and pond grass. How are your ponds coming along, just about ready to get them going?

@JaeG I came across this picture today and thought of you with your little birds:
