The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I’m trying to get hubby to take the camper to Wyoming this summer to meet you but he doesn’t want to take it that far. He wants to see Wyoming though. I could be your helper:lol:
What is a camper for if not to go somewhere?? I know someone that figures they haven't gone anywhere if they don't put at least 2,000 miles on theirs when they go on their annual "vacation". Hard to call it a vacation when one is retired ;)

or brussel sprouts and certain other gross vegetables.
HEY!!!! Brussel sprouts are NOT gross! Unless you ask my wife or daughters ;) I'd forgotten about roasting them with olive oil. They are very good that way.

Despite having very high blood sugar, his regular doctor said needed his appendix removed. Fortunately another doctor overheard that and took my mother aside and said my brother had diabetes and didn't need surgery. Well his call was the right one.
 :thSomeone should lose their license to practice medicine.

<PLOP> Honeys...I'm home! Didja miss me?
Who are you again? You do look kinda familiar
:love

Kdog a doctor could hook you up with a nutritionalist- to show you what good foods you can eat and how to handle moderate snacking by giving good snack choices. Also eat slower and pay attention to what/how much you are eating. If you are texting or watching tv etc., you don't realize how much you eat.

Also with your snack take a sensible amount on a plate, and put the box away immediately, before you go and take more.
Good strategy. It IS way too easy to over eat when the container is right under your hand.

Theoretically I know I need to eat better and sometimes I do for a few days but then the good tasting junk and sugar always wins. :(
True, somehow most people have a predisposition to LOVE sweet stuff. Hard to ignore, especially once you start in on it. Just ONE more double chocolate Milano, I swear.

I need to do something before I get really sick and it's too late.

Do you think it's still reversible?
Never too late until you are in the ground ;)
If you haven't, I'd go get a physical and see what the blood work says. In the meantime, try drinking water instead of going for that next Lucky Charms "snack". If water is too boring, try adding a little lemon or lime juice concentrate.

You're hired!

I don't think it's that time but idk. It kind of feels like it should but but idk.

You are definitely right about all that stuff. I get a bunch of food before I sit down to watch TV that I then eat during ir

And I tend to take the whole bag or box in ha

But see, my problem is I theoretically know all that stuff or what I should do but I can't seem to do it.

And seem to have no self control.

And don't want to say no if I'm hungry or wanting something cause then I'm worried I'll get sick

I could all day most days hah

And it's okay, don't worry about changing the subject! There is no real subject.

Nice yard Teila! It is looking great!

And I am curious, do those plants get much sun under there?

Thanks.

Plus I tend to be lazy and it is a lot of work to eat better. Or at least it seems like it. It would probably be easy once I got started. But it's the getting started that's the hardest part. And I tend to have problems starting things too. Especially lately.

And it's almost like I've stopped caring. Even though I KNOW how bad it is for me. Maybe winter partly has to do with that?

I don't exercise either. Like at all.

I need to do something before I get really sick and it's too late.

KD, you can turn your life around! Do it! Set a time to get up and a time to go to bed. When you get up, have a quality breakfast. Make time for lunch and sit down for a meal. Turn off the tv while you eat. Go for a walk, even if it is short every day.
You will feel amazing if you cut back the sugar. Set a start date and do it!

You can do it Kdog You just have to stop(for now) with your other projects,ie, maybe bunnies, cages, etc. Make YOU priority. YOU are your most important project. Stay on task. Do your parents even know what is going on (blood sugar, etc.)

You're hired!

Thank goodness! That means I have been replaced!! That was getting to be a bit of a commute!! DMC, in reality this is where you want to come visit! Close to the first National Wild Horse rang in the country, Big Horn Canyon, great camping in the Big Horn Mountains (which are user friendly) and a drive along the nation's first designated scenic byway takes you to Yellowstone and Teton National Parks all close by too. Park that camper on the side-yard, plug it in, and explore!
