The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Boy you folks were busy while I was away. Shew, now if only I can remember what I was thinking when I quoted all these posts...

I would love to share this one at work regarding the Releases but they would probably not appreciate it :p

I really upset my developers when they found out I had moved their deadline up two weeks and formed a new test group, made up of users;) Of course, the way they found out was when I sent them the bug list and gave them two days to fix and re-wrap. Oh, and YES!!!! your picture was perfect.

Two babies have hatched! :wee

I only got a photo because the hen's sister and mother came over for a nosy and the hen got off the nest to chase them off. One of the babies is an unusual colour. Now I'm worried that it will wander off in the night and get lost because they chill so quickly and our aviary is big. Last time this girl misplaced two chicks and they died, but she raised three. I might set her up in a cage inside because I so want to see what that colour grows into! It's like a wild but instead of black stripes it has greyish/brown stipes. It looks darker in the photo than in real life. The other chick is a cinnamon:

Loved all the baby pix

I want to see a picture of your delicious dinner!

Me too and it looked awesome!

View attachment 1240151 BRAG time! Katie was presented with “Student of the Quarter” at the middle school assembly today! So proud of her! She’s come so far - 99% of the time it’s so hard to remember that she was ever diagnosed as Autistic! ATTA GIRL, KATIE!

Way to GO!!:yesss:

I understand that's a pretty common sentiment ;)

We're different when we're "Grand" parents. It's no longer our responsibility to raise them and instead we can spoil them.:clap:wee

I am showing everyone my shiny new saw!View attachment 1240712

Love the saw:love

Though there is value in having it in the kitchen if it is too cold out in the workshop to use it :lau And no, I'm NOT going to drag all my wood working tools into the kitchen. Several are too heavy to move anyway.

Many years ago, I moved the woodshop out of the work room and into the family room. DW wasn't particularly happy, but quickly got over it.

Welcome back Bob! You have a lot of catching up to do, not just posts but allllll those new members  Sheesh, I've never seen so many newbies start at this time of the year. Mostly the winter months would be slow in that forum until spring. What gives?

I have no idea but took me hours. I hit the guest computer at the hotel a couple of times and limited my activity to new folks. Was still way behind.:barnie

I planned on being back Thursday evening but after, delay, delay, delay, etc... I finely got home around midnight and had to work Friday early morning.

ETA: Oh and congrats Debby and Cap for those milestones.

I'm glad I didn't work for you. Though I DO agree that the test group should include users and others that do not know the code. It is EASY to test for the things you thought of. The others accidentally find the things you didn't.

Forgot to add...the package I sent on Jan. 4th was delivered to the member's PO this morning :)

Thanks for your help @bruceha2000 :wee
:D

Interesting, the last update in the history only shows the arrival at PO scan. I guess the clerk didn't scan it delivered when it was put in the PO box. DW is supposed to do that and the carrier is supposed to scan when they deliver to an address. I hope you didn't buy that replacement book!

@Blooie
:hit Sure wish I lived closer. I still have the propane hot water boiler that was in the house when we bought it. Really need to get some pictures and stick it out on Craig's list. I bet it wasn't used even 10 years. We had to 95% rebuild the half of the house it heated and put in a hot air furnace instead. The old one sits unused out in the workshop.

:hugs

Gotta ask, with all the pissy ass stuff the inspectors found, how did they miss this??

Yep, already ordered the replacement and asked DuckLady to send it direct to the member.

Are you telling me there's still a chance this poor gal won't get the 1st book I ordered and sent on Jan. 4th?

I'm saying I think that one WAS delivered to her. The last history scan says:
January 20, 2018, 8:17 am
Arrived at Post Office
BANNER ELK, NC 28604
The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. An updated delivery date will be provided when available. Your item arrived at the Post Office at 8:17 am on January 20, 2018 in BANNER ELK, NC 28604.

Not sure about the "delayed" and "updated date" thing but if you sent it to a PO Box AND they scanned it in at the PO, it should be waiting for the recipient. With only ~1,100 people in the town, the clerk probably personally knows the recipient. DW knows pretty much all of her ~75 PO box holders, certainly recognizes their names.

The member that's expecting the package gave me a house address, not a PO box. I was interpreting that message to mean it was at the PO and would be delivered to her house. I sent the member a PM, waiting to hear back if it turns up at her house or not.

Criminy, this is frustrating! :he
