The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

The member that's expecting the package gave me a house address, not a PO box. I was interpreting that message to mean it was at the PO and would be delivered to her house. I sent the member a PM, waiting to hear back if it turns up at her house or not.

Criminy, this is frustrating! :he
Oh, my mistake. Somehow I read your message to say PO Box. But you DIDN'T say BOX did you!!

LAST history message says she got it today.

Good Morning Friends :hugs

Blooie I have to make the buns to accommodate the huge burgers hubby makes! :p Tut, sorry to hear about the furnace :he

Welcome Back Bob!

N F C Yeah, I noticed an uptake in the newbies and have been surprised by the number of Aussies also.

After a big day I went to bed thinking I will be lights out and ZZZZzzzzz’s … bzzzzt! Couldn’t get to sleep and must have been over-tired :hmm It didn't help that Chimee who has a 'do not touch me without 24 hours written notice' rule, wanted a cuddle and kept tapping me on the nose!

Good thing I thrive on routine! Copy and paste from last Sunday :p Plans for today .. finish housework, load of washing, trip in to town for groceries, home to water everything and potter. There is a monsoon north of us with lots of rain but they are not sure yet who is going to get it. At this stage it is predicted that we will start to get noteworthy rain on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and more significant rain on Friday and Saturday [no idea after that cos that is where the 7 day forecast ends ;)]. Good thing I mowed yesterday! Temps are going to be in the 86F to 89.5F range for most of the week; welcome to the tropics! ;)

86F predicted for today!

I'm saying I think that one WAS delivered to her. The last history scan says:
January 20, 2018, 8:17 am
Arrived at Post Office
BANNER ELK, NC 28604
The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. An updated delivery date will be provided when available. Your item arrived at the Post Office at 8:17 am on January 20, 2018 in BANNER ELK, NC 28604.

Not sure about the "delayed" and "updated date" thing but if you sent it to a PO Box AND they scanned it in at the PO, it should be waiting for the recipient. With only ~1,100 people in the town, the clerk probably personally knows the recipient. DW knows pretty much all of her ~75 PO box holders, certainly recognizes their names.

She got it, she got her package today! :wee

I'm so relieved!

And....it's still snowing!

Send me some snow! Though with your postal service (and mine) I won't hold my breath! It's stinking hot here today. I'm melting!

I thought I'd have another day to set up a brooder but Miss Flake's eggs are trying to pip internally (I'm a candle-a-holic)! Only problem is, because it's so hot my brooder will cook them, so just trying to cool it a little.

This is the best I can do @JaeG (I don't trust our PO with anything real)

Yay, you have new babies coming! Looking forward to more pictures!

We are just a few degrees cooler than Florida today! You have got to love that. Snow is melting like crazy.
I slept in late and worked until dark. Got the completed projects out of the workshop. Needed room for the new saw. I installed another nest box in the chicken coop, not that i am likely to need it with only 4 pullets but i left the siding off in that area to allow for it. Then i put cedar siding on the nest box so it blends with the coop. I will have to get a picture tomorrow, it looks good.

And....it's still snowing!
What, no :weeto go with that??

I took advantage of the "just over freezing" temps today to move about 2/3 cord of wood from the little barn to the enclosed porch. Have about 1 1/3 cord available just outside the front door again.

Gotta say, cold isn't always nice but quiet woodstove heat sure is!
