The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

You guys are making me feel better about my mess (well, the kids contribute a lot to it)! One day I'll be organised (haha).

It's still hot and sticky as anything here. I woke up at 2.45am and it was too hot to go back to sleep. I tried soaking my feet in some cold water, except the water didn't take long to warm up and it's not so refreshing then. This weather is insane! And my washing machine is on the fritz!!! My almost brand new washing machine. :barnie It sounds like the pump isn't working properly so hubby is going to drop past the store we got it from and get them to organise someone to come and look at it. Not that there's any point doing washing when the humidity is so high it doesn't dry. I think it's more humid outside my incubator than in it!
Nothing is made to last anymore...sucks about that heat too.

@JaeG sorry to hear about your washing machine, you haven't had it long if I remember correctly. Hope they can get it working again soon. And nothing gets dry with high humidity, it's just a fact of life. As long as you move around enough so fungus doesn't have a chance to take root, it'll be fine.
Hi @sunflour :frow

I haven't seen Summer Rental, have to see if I can find a copy of it
That was a good one too.

@CapricornFarm there you go, making me tired just reading all you did today

Here, have a cookie, I just made them. Another fact of life, cookies make everything better:

Yum!!

Good Morning Friends :hugs

Ended up with 94 HD’s yesterday and when I started at 7AM this morning, the HD software was not loading! While that might sound like a good thing, no jobs etc .. not so much and the workaround would mean even more work getting the jobs out via e.mail not the HD. Anyways, I said I would give it until 07:15AM before deciding to implement the workaround and it came back on line at 07:14AM!! Phew!

Thanks N F C!

Sorry to hear about the washing machine! Jae

LOL at Audrey and the Huntsman Bruce!

Thank You for running this competition, I do not feel so bad now! LOL

My entry! :lau

Coffee table in lounge room [no room to move because of cabinets full of random stuff]:

Random stuff everywhere!

More 'random' stuff:

The kitchen after I cleaned it up and made some bench space so I could cook ... some of you are going to think this looks OK but not me! There is stuff everywhere because cupboards are full. However, I am used to living neat and tidy [some would think 'clinical'] and having room to move, clear benches etc, so it is still messing with my head and there is no 'theme' to anything, just all this random, non related, stuff hanging everywhere!

To try and explain why the above is messing with me, this is kind of my idea what a kitchen should look like:

Same with all the cabinets full of random stuff which no one ever looks at. Why? Why is any of this clutter here? No one uses it, no one looks at it, it just sits there, messing with my head LOL :p
I think you and I could be room mates Teila :yaLove that empty kitchen!

I have to admit Bruce has topped the other entries. My camera isn't working so I'm out.But I truly think I could have won second prize otherwise. My stuff has stayed in the exact same place(s) for years. Three bedrooms full, dining room, plant room / etc.

Bathrooms one and one half- are fine, I know what room is the most important in a house.

Bruce I probably should clarify that the picture was not entirely my ideal kitchen and a kettle, toaster and some other things would be on the counter but not stuff which should be in a pantry and not random stuff hanging on the walls and from above the breakfast bar, on the breakfast bar etc

Thank you for the clutter credit!! :lau

What can only be described as another work day from that proverbial hot place! To the point that I cracked and posted the below in the General Room [all IT staff]:

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again .... ergo, I am insane!
For the sake of my sanity, can we please stop rolling out new stuff for just a while and fix the stuff we already have out there?"

Closely followed by "Sorry, I will BRB, I need 5 minutes!" which is where I walked out of my office to take some deep breaths and walk around the garden.

I get back to this private message from my boss ""Howdy - are you doing OK?"

Uuuuh, no! What was your first clue sunshine! :lau

Speaking of sunshine ................

T , i think you need some hugs and a new job.:hugs:hugs

Thank You! I did need a hug!

Yes, I do need a new job but I am probably not going to get one at my age and after 18 years, hanging in there for long service leave [2 years away] which is 3 months paid leave and can get added to the 3 months I already have up my sleeve as a safety blanket ;)
