The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning all! Cleaning for a living has made me nuts....that’s why I like that perfectly empty kitchen. I clean for someone my age that makes me want to cry. We get along great but her house is awful. My husband wants me to quit. I have not because her husband would probably have a nervous breakdown as he can’t take the mess and thanks me every time I come. I have 2 out of 16 that I could quit on.

I know what you mean, and don't know how you do it.

A late good morning to everyone :frow

Stayed up late finishing a book that has to go back to the library today. This morning I was trying to remember how it ended. Maybe I wasn't so very awake toward the last few pages

@Teila hope today is going better for you! It sounds like your boss is a bit 'unaware' as so many are.

@DigMyChicks if you wouldn't mind giving up a couple of the houses you clean for, I say go for it! It's hard enough keeping just 1 house clean (at least for me), can't imagine trying to clean 16 of them + my own.

Time to drink some more coffee, I'll catch up later!

It's expensive to adopt a dog here too. It's one way of ensuring people are serious about looking after the animal at least. She's a cutie!

Yeah, that's a good point. Usually ensures people are serious although here the price can vary per rescue and even per state/region. So some areas are more. But it usually also includes all the vetting which would probably cost that much anyway.

And right!? Isn't she adorable?

The problem with the magazine and on line pics - no one can really live like that. The last time we painted/redecorated about 10 years ago - we took everything off the walls and really had no clutter. It was awesome for a minute or two. Personally I like fun things on walls/counters. But when there's visual overload it wears on us and makes us tired IMO.

Once your garden is perfected, then worry about the inside....or just spend more time outside and forget the clutter :D

x2 - I am constantly amazed at what Cap can do and that she actually does it.

Gee, just like me :old

I think Bruce is ahead for sure :lau... but I haven't had time to get pics

Sounds like collections and not clutter to me ;)

Guess we have an abundance of unwanted pets around here, the cost is spading for about 70-80 $$. I do know a few folks involved in rescue, on fosters up to 50 dogs + cats and sends them by car or plan everywhere on the American continent. I've been amazed at how far she has sent them. Didn't even think about the transportation costs to y'all.

Aw you're not old!

And here they do have clinics that offer cheap or sometimes free spaying and neutering. If you don't go through one, it just depends on how much the individual vet costs. We got our cat done at a mobile clinic but the dog at a vet and wow were they pricey lol it was a mobile vet though that usually came to our house but for the neuter she took him to her house. And also he was wayyy too young but she had said he was plenty big enough and we didn't know better. Anyway, this particular vet was wayy pricey on most things so we soon found another vet. We actually only found them when the dog hurt his leg and have been going since because they're very reasonable and good with the animals.

But I think his neuter cost us at least a few hundred. I could find the thing. It was like anesthesia only half hour? So then an extra half hour was extra and lots of stupid little charges like that. Extra for the pain med during it stuff like that. He needs it obviously but lots of extra charges. And since when does a neuter surgery only take half an hour anyway?

ANYWAY. Sorry, got off on a rant lol

Wow 50 animals at once!? How does she do it?

But yeah, the transport costs can be a lot and some places will include that in the adoption fee and some will have an extra fee.

How do you do it? I don't even like cleaning my own home lol

And I can pick up clothes and stuff in my room/off the floor and I actually do like wiping counters and that stuff when I actually do it but yet when I try to organize or go through boxes or piles of stuff I haven't touched etc. or try to find somewhere for the stuff and basically just organizing then sometimes I almost cry LOL it's ridiculous. Cause i dont know what to do first and it gets overwhelming so then i dont clean.

Thats embarassing and random lol sorry

I feel bad though because he has gotten a lot older the last like year or two. :/
That seems to happen, no idea why.

Uuuuh, no! What was your first clue sunshine! :lau
:gigGee, it couldn't have been the CRY FOR HELP could it?? Too bad they won't likely take your suggestion. Got schedules to meet you know and somehow the metric is ON TIME more than DOESN'T BREAK.

I am hopefully graduating in spring then I can also do what I want when I want. :D

Well, I might decide to get a job and save lol idk
Right, you can get a job, an apartment, a car, a lot of "Hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go".

But when there's visual overload it wears on us and makes us tired IMO.
Unfortunately for DW it is "visual overload makes it all invisible". And sadly it doesn't take much more than 1 or 2 items on a horizontal surface to be that overload. What's one more thing? She doesn't even see the stuff we trip over on the floor.

the cost is spading for about 70-80 $$
PLEASE don't spade your pets! There are more humane ways to kill them ;) The vet will spay or castrate (depending on gender) your pets. You can generically use the term "neuter".

Yeah, i know pets do age but it does seem he's gotten really old. Not just slower but even like more health problems. But I'm going to try training him or walking him more like I used to.

But this:

And now are night and day lol

And oh yeah, I do plan on moving out. But I need to save money first. :P

I don't want to get a job now because I want to focus on school. As is I can't even read the books
