Bruce, you almost had me committed to the loony bin
:gig...:hugs

That's how I feel most every day! :lau

Thanks. Us old geezers take longer to heal, I guess! <sigh>. Those winds can happen anytime, whether it’s stormy or a bright, clear summer day. We just learn to walk at a slant.

I don't think you're that old! :)

And oh boy! I don't think I'd like that!

We get gusts in storms and i get scared haha

The pine trees sway.

The winds i think are 25-30 now with gusts up to 70 and I think that's high.

G’darvo Friends :hugs

Thank you for all the likes and pats on the back with my culinary creations ;)

Kelsey I got the taste spot on with the Steak Diane but the colour was not quite right; apparently ‘Mums’ had more of a greenish tinge than mine. The spring onions add a tinge of green and I think I might have used more of the white part and less of the green than she would have. I will test that theory next time. I told them to eat it with their eyes closed! LOL

That forecast was a tad dramatic but it was taken from one of our Storm Chasers’ FB page. ‘Recognised’ weather forecasters are agreeing with the prediction and this is the latest; we are in the ‘Pink’ zone:

Thank you for the “stay safe” best wishes and you stay safe also Ron.

Debby I hope I have not missed you; have an awesome time!

Blooie Hodge-podge all you like; we are just happy to have you. Get well soon :hugs

I managed to get the lawns edged and mowed and the weeds pulled or killed before any more rain. Not the best cut in the world because the lawn was still wet but it will do and will ensure that it is not even more overgrown after this next tropical low. Also, not sure when I will get chance again; might have to look in to a hover-mower :p

Just snapped a couple of quick pics on the ponds; I am really happy with how well they are doing and how clear the water is:

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to greet I go .. catchya tomorrow my time.

Ahh i see. Well tell them to stop being so OCD and nitpicky :p

And ah okay so kinda like here then, individuals can say what they want ha

But WOW you are in the big rain zone! How many inches is that??

View attachment 1280547 View attachment 1280545 <snap>. Forgot to post these....one is especially for you, Debby!

And the other is Katie rocking her new hearing aids!

Awww so cute!

Good Morning.

Blooie, Happy Anniversary. You always have a lot going on , hope y'all are all feeling well again.

@Teila congratulations on a great Angel Cake, it's lovely. Hope your garden/pond aren't hit by a flood. We had a disastrous flood here in 1994 - it flooded Macon's water treatment plant and those on city water had no running water for about 2 months. We fortunately had just moved into our current home with a well, so so lucky.

Debby, the cake looks delicious, just wondering if Opie helped :) Have a wonderful vacation, I'm sure you DS, your cats and flock will also have some interesting stories to tell when you get home.

Of course he helped!

My smallest Wellie - Bitty - is going BROODY :he . I thought she was just laying late yesterday, but had to check on her when she failed to go to roost with the flock. Not fun making her get out of that nest, but she did go out eat, drink and go to roost. But she is back in the nest this morning.

Geez, rarely go broody is one reason I picked this breed :barnie.

Hope she is easy to break!

No worries, Bruce. She has had serious ear infections all her life, and has hyperacussis as part of her Austism. She's had ruptured ear drums a couple of other times, which usually heal up, she's had tubes, and she's got a lot of what the ENT called "calicification" in her ears. So despite loud noises hurting her, they decided to try the aids temporarily and if they help her be able to hear more clearly but give her the ability to moderate the sound, then they'll fit her for more permanent aids. That's why these look so big and clunky. She says that it felt like she was trying to hear with pillows over her ears but it's much better with the aids. I'm not sure how it all works....Jenny tried to explain it but between her convoluted explanation and my befuddled mind I decided to focus on drying Katie's tears and assuring her that the kids at school would get used to seeing her in them. Bless their hearts, they think it's awesome that Katie wears them....her best friend always reminds her to take them out before gym class and put them back in when class is over, so she's good with them now. They haven't decided if they are going to intervene surgically or wait. Her next appointment is on March 8th and we'll get more definitive answers then. If she needs to continue with the hearing aids they'll give her more updated, smaller ones.

Looks like some wicked storms moving in, both down by @Teila , and on the east coast of the US. You all button down and stay safe!! We're supposed to start seeing a little something tonight, and then more over the rest of the weekend. Ken is supposed to be taking a couple of candidates over the mountains to Sheridan for a meeting tomorrow, but they've decided to leave tonight instead of at 4 am Saturday and spend the night in Sheridan so they aren't trying to cross in darkness and snow.

@Jae, a new washing machine? I need to scroll back further on accounta I missed something somewhere!

I never got a broody when I wanted one, and had them when I didn't, @sunflour! And my first was Agatha, a 9 month old Easter Egger. Noooooo! She hatched out Scout. Feast or famine, right?

Glad the kids are being nice about it!

And thank you! Just a lot of wind amd rain right now. The coastal communities have it worse. I mean, we're technically coastal as there's a beach in our town, but our has is a little more inland about 10 minutes away and there's towns and houses right on the ocean that get it worse. Beach/summer communities mostly but some permanent residents too. Right on the beaches and sea walls that usually always get flooded.

We have high wind warnings too and flood watches for the more coastal areas.

We lost power for about 5 minutes this morning and it was flickering again a couple minutes ago but still on.

:pop
Where do you want to go?

Anywhere.

Normally I can go off whenever I want but too dangerous atm.

I could get up and go to Subway, the pet store, Wal-Mart, etc. etc. Or even just driving around. I like to do that. But now am stuck here.

Can't even go outside ha

But it's funny cause normally I probably wouldn't even go off but it's the fact that I can't lol

It's a Nor'easter for sure. Heavy wet snow on the trees. As predicted power went out at 12:30. It'll be a while before it is restored.

No snow here but high winds and rain

Good Morning Friends :hugs

I confess to being a little OCD with my greets and try to make sure I have said G’Day to all; sometimes it is difficult to juggle the time to allow that, especially yesterday, so many new members! I am lucky in that I get to do them on a work day in between help desk tickets.

First thing I do is check the date but I have probably been caught before. As I read all the posts, it really does help when someone mentions “zombie thread” :clap

LOL Bruce yes, the fresh meat might be the reason :lau

Those having ‘weather issues’ stay safe!

We should be fine; the house is high set and the block slopes slightly with the chickens and ponds being on the high side.

Kelsey, at this stage we are only in the 3 inch zone which is OK, we got more than that the other day.

The ponds are not filling up with babies (yet) but I do believe I have some of both now, Guppies and Platys as there are two distinct shapes but they are are so very tiny.

Plan for today, because I got the lawns done yesterday, is pottering. I have a couple of plants to repot in larger pots; generally my kind of day :love
